My Creative Time 80th Edition Release Blog Hop and Sale!!

Hello and welcome to the My Creative Time 80th Edition Release Blog Hop!!  There are some incredible new goodies being released today and this hop is full of inspiration using them!!

You should have arrived from the incredibly talented Miss Kendra but if not, that's okay! You can find the entire line up Here!!

This release has something for everyone.  From cute to whimsical to beautiful!  My project today features the new Never Stop Dreaming Stamp and Die Set.

For my sneak peek of this set I made this card:

I went with dark colours for a more masculine look. Today, I switched things up and went with a pretty in pink, feminine card!

I gold heat embossed pretty much everything on this card because I love the look of pink and gold.  Although this image is begging to be coloured, I kept it very simple by just adding a few pink touches.

I wasn't too concerned with perfect results on the ink blended background. I just wanted some intense colour and I think the "roughness" of the blending adds a bit of an "artsy" look :)

After heat embossing the sentiments, I swiped my Versamark pad around the outer edges of the card base and added the same gold embossing powder.  This created a very cool frame.

I know you are going to love this release and get A LOT of inspiration from today's hop!!  Up next, is the amazing Miss Liz to knock your socks off!!

Here's a look at whats all being released today:

My Creative Time 80th Edition Release Sneak Peek Day Three!!

Hello and welcome!!  I hope you've been enjoying all the peeks from the My Creative Time Design Team so far!!  Well, we're halfway through and this next stamp and die set will not disappoint!

Today, it's all about sewing!! This set is called You're So Special and it will be perfect for all your family or friends that have a passion for sewing.  It's actually good for anyone but people who sew will truly appreciate it!

I used the More Stitched Rectangular Dies to create a frame on my card. Then I stamped, coloured and die cut a few of the images from this set.  The dress form is also included in stamp form but I just used the die.  What is awesome is that the Girls Night Out Stitched Dies work with this set perfectly!!!

There are plenty of sentiments in this stamp set but I chose to use a sentiment from the Thanks Sew Much mini stamp set, which happens to be the FREEBIE this release!! There will be more on that in tomorrows post ;).

This stamp and die set will be perfect on its own but if you happen to own the Girls Night Out dies, it will take it up a notch!!

Thank you for popping in today!!  We have one more day of peeks for you so please come back tomorrow!!

My Creative Time 80th Edition Release Sneak Peek Day Two!!

Are you ready for a peek at another fabulous set being released this Friday from My Creative Time! Today's set is gorgeous and perfect for graduation or encouragement cards.

The new Never Stop Dreaming stamp and die set features two gorgeous dreamcatchers that can take centre stage on your projects.  I kept my card very clean and simple and also on the masculine side.

I did some very simple colouring with alcohol markers and used the co-ordinating die to cut out the dreamcatcher.

I did add a bit of glitter pen and some gemstones even though I wanted to keep it a bit "boyish" but I think even a man wouldn't be put off by a bit of sparkle, do you?? :)

This set will be so much fun to experiment with. In fact, I have more ideas swimming around in my head!

I hope you enjoyed today's sneak! Thank you for dropping by today and be sure to come on by tomorrow for another fabulous sneak. But don't forget....

A Little Announcement!!!

Hi friends!!  I have some exciting news to share with you today!!  I've recently joined the Design Team for Scrap N' Stamp Canada!!!  This is an online retailer of all my favourite crafty supplies in Canada including My Favourite Things, Lawn Fawn, Concord and 9th and many more!!

I wanted to share a quick project made using supplies that can be purchased in the shop!! I think this card shows what my style of cardmaking is.  Clean, simple and hopefully, cute!!

One of my favourite stamp sets from Hero Arts is the Believe in Yourself Narwhal set. The images are just so cute and the sentiments are perfect for any sort of encouragement card!!

I did some quick colouring with Copic markers and used the co-ordinating dies to cut out the images. For the background, I used the Sunrise Radiating Rays stencil from MFT along with Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Inks.  I really wanted a bright, contrasting colour to the warm grey of the narwhal.

The "ocean" part of the ink blending was done in Broken China Distress Oxide Ink. I added some Glossy Accents to a few areas on the images to give some dimension and shine!

And some Nuvo Jewel Drops in the colour Sea Breeze finish off this card!!  I love to create simple scenes like this where the focal image "pops"!!

I am so excited and happy to be a part of this team and can't wait to showcase products that are available right here in Canada!!!

Thank you for stopping by today!!  See you soon!

Maple Syrup Monday featuring Catherine Pooler Designs!

Hello and happy Monday!! Well, okay, are Mondays ever happy?? I have a card that will maybe cure the Monday blues...maybe.

For this month's collaboration with Colleen from Maple Syrup Designs, we decided to feature products from Catherine Pooler!! Colleen carries A LOT of this line including the all the incredible inks!!

I thought I would tie this post in with the 30 Day Colouring Challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin! If you've never heard of this challenge, please read about it HERE. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this photo:

I decided to practice a bit of no-line colouring using this gorgeous feather from the Zen Feather Stamp Set and coloured pencils, or pencil crayons as we like to call them here in Canada:)  No-line colouring is not easy for me and this stamp is quite detailed so to make it easier, I ignored all the details while colouring and just used a white gel pen to add them back later!!

I also coloured the flower and tiny leaf image but did not like the way it turned out.  I admit that I rushed through it...I didn't end up using this on the final project.

I wanted to show you something that was kind of cool. Sometimes I will spray my images with a mixture of Perfect Pearls (in the Perfect Pearls shade) and water to give a real pretty sparkle.  I've never done it with pencils before. Since I knew I wasn't going to use this flower, I experimented with it.

Because I used wax based pencils, the water beaded up on the surface and I had to use my heat tool to dry it.  But it gave a very cool texture as well as shine!  I didn't do that to my feather but definitely want to explore that further!

I kept the card simple as I wanted the focus to be on the coloured feather.

I used the Zen Feather Co-ordinating Dies to cut out the feather and also the zig zag border on the side of the embossed panel.  I totally went "old school" with the sentiment! I used Lawn Fawn Circle Dies and Scalloped Circle dies for that!!

A few clear sequins were enough to give a little sparkle to this card!!

I hope you like this clean and simple Feather Card today!!  And let me know if you are participating in the 30 Day Colouring Challenge!!

Remember to check out Colleen's blog for more Catherine Pooler goodness!!

Thank you so much for stopping by!!!!

Until next time...stay crafty!
