Your Next Stamp April Release Blog Hop!!

Welcome back!! Today is the day!! Your Next Stamp has another incredible release for you this month.  And today I've used my favourite... Just Keep Floating!!!

I am a cat lover so this set really spoke to me :).  I chose the donut floaty and the cat that's laying down...it seriously doesn't get any cuter than that!!

I wanted to make a small swimming pool for my kitty so in the end, my card ended up in a circle shape.

I created a background with the new Fishy Background as well. It's faint but you can definitely see it in real life!  Over the heat embossed background, I lightly inked some water ripples using a stencil and Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

This set has some of the cutest filler images. I added the flip flops, sunscreen and sunglasses on the edge of the "pool" and tucked the beach ball under the edge to make it look like it was floating in the pool as well.

You can see the little fishies in the background as I covered them in sparkle pen.  I added a bit of Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the beach ball, sunglasses and the nose and ears.  This set if FULL of the sweetest cat images and I can see myself using it again and again!!

Here's a look at the new products I used:

Create A Smile Challenge...Crafty Friends!

Welcome back to another Challenge for Create A Smile Stamps!!  It's a fun one this week and one we can all appreciate...Crafty Friends!  So get those CAS stamps out and start getting crafty!!

Create A Smile has a must have set in the store called Stamping Friends.  This set is perfect for creating something special for one (or all) of your paper loving buddies!  I used a couple of images from this set and combined them with a couple older stamp sets.

I started by gold heat embossing the gorgeous sentiment from the Happy to Call You My Friend Stamp Set.  I used the Heart Rays Stencil along with Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord Distress Inks right over top of the sentiment.  I tried to centre it the best I could.  I cut down the inked panel using the second largest die from the Scalloped Rectangles Cool Cuts Set.

I stamped the ink blending tool and a few sequins from the Stamping Friends set.  The sequins were gold heat embossed right off the start and colour was added with the same Distress Inks.  I stamped the blending tool in a light Copic safe ink, coloured it and then added the embossing.  Jury still seems to be out on whether the embossing ruins your marker tips so I played it safe! Everything was fussy cut.

I foam mounted the images and it was at this point I decided to add the "creative" to the card.  This comes from the Same Frequency Stamp Set (which also contains some crafty images!). I simply masked off a portion of the stamp, inked and fussy cut around it.  I adhered the focal panel to an ivory card base...I am loving the white and ivory combination!!

To have the heat embossed sentiment stand out a bit more, I CAREFULLY added a drop shadow using some cool grey markers.  And that's it!!

Can't wait to see what crafty creation you come up with!!  Please visit the Create A Smile Challenge Blog for more details but in the meantime, this is what you'll be playing for!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!!  See you soon!

3-D Wednesday with My Creative Time!

Hello and welcome!! It's time to make a three dimensional project using goodies from My Creative Time!!  I really struggle with this because I'm mostly a card maker but Emma has so many dies in the shop that make this easy!!

I started my creating a box with the Gift Card/Gift Box Die using 80lb cardstock.  Before adhering it all together, I stamped a pattern on the lid portion using the polka dot stamp from the Egg Decorations Stamp Set (on sale!). I used a beautiful yellow shade of ink from Catherine Pooler called Sauna.

The real star of the show is this bunny:

I used only the front portion of the Bunny Lollipop Holder Die to create this super cute embellishment for the gift box.  I simply added colour using sponge daubers and Distress Inks.  This set comes with separate pieces that cut the eyes, nose and little eye brows.

The bow comes from the Sleigh Die Set and worked so good here!! I used the same yellow ink, with a gentle hand to add colour to it.

The sentiment (also from the Egg Decorations Stamps) was stamped on one of the Chunky Stitched Tag Dies using the same Sauna Ink. To give a bit of definition to the tag, I added some stitching detail with a grey marker.

And my Easter treat box is ready to go!! You could easily switch up the colours to create more of a masculine bunny, and skip the bow:).

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you found a wee bit of inspiration here today!!

See you soon!

Your Next Stamp New Release Preview!!

Hello, friends!!  I'm so excited to be a guest for Your Next Stamp for their upcoming release!!  This is another amazing release, you will not be disappointed!!

For my card today, I used the new Fishy Background Stamp.  This is the most adorable stamp and will lend itself to a variety of techniques!

Of course, I just had to white heat emboss it and colour it in with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens for a simple watercolour look!

Aren't those rainbow fish so sweet??  The sentiment comes from the Snorkel Fun Fishy Stamp Set which is older but works perfectly on this card!!  I did some partial die cutting of one of the Scrapworks-Strips Dies to make a label for the sentiment.

And that's my little peak at just one of the sets being released TOMORROW!! Make sure you head to the YNS Blog for a look at all the design team and guest creations featuring goodies from this release!!

See you tomorrow for the big reveal and blog hop to celebrate!!

Sale applies to items in stock only.

You have arrived from the lovely Miss Kendra's Blog!!

I'm pretty sure I've told you before that I amassed most of my MCT stash during these 48 hour sales!!  It's a great time to shop!!

The set we are showcasing today is awesome!  It has a great frame die with a couple of other icons which go perfectly with the sentiment stamp set!  What I love most about this set is that while it contains your "run of the mill" congrats sentiments, it also has unique ones like, "adoption of your fur baby" or "congrats on the new you".  You won't find sentiments like that anywhere else!

I combined this set with the older Home Sweet Home Stamp and Die Set.

The frame fits perfectly on a 3.5 X 3.5 inch note card.  To create a small scene, I used the new Floating Cloud Dies and the previously released Stitched Grass Die.

After adhering the white frame to an ivory card base, the "congrats" was hard to read, so I die cut just the top portion of the frame again from white cardstock and added some colour with markers.

I think this is a great sized card to attach to a housewarming gift!

I hope you enjoyed my project for today!!

Up next is the amazing Miss Ruthie!!

Just Cards!! With My Creative Time!

I'm back today with another project for My Creative Time!!  The theme today is "Just Cards"!  For today's project, I combined an older set of dies with one of the newest stamp sets to create a fun encouragement card!

What was nice was that I already had all those stars die cut and just waiting to be used on a project!!  I took a piece of white cardstock and trimmed it down with the largest of the More Stitched Rectangular Dies.  I used my Misti to stamp the sentiment along with a bit of masking to ink up that awesome sentiment from the new Amazing Things Stamp and Die Set.

I added some glitter pen to all the stars along with the "brilliant" portion of the sentiment.  And to finish off, a spattering of clear sequins!

It's a simple design, but I kind of like how it turned out and I hope you do too!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! See you VERY soon :)

Birthday Palooza with My Creative Time!!

Hello, friends and welcome back!!  I'm back to share a fun yet clean and simple birthday card using some fabulous goodies from My Creative Time!!  This card features quite a bit of die cutting along with a few stamped images!

I started by cutting a white card front down with the second largest of the Stitched Postage Frame Dies.  In the centre of that panel, I die cut the word "celebrate" which comes from the Tag Die Layers Set.

On a white card base, I used the polka dot stencil from the A Sunny Hello Kit (which is still available for purchase!!), and Broken China Distress Ink.  Before foam mounting the die cut panel, I inked a scrap piece of cardstock with the same ink and glued it behind the "celebrate".  I wanted a solid colour so it was easy to read. I also stamped the "your day" in black ink which comes from the Just Because Stamp and Die Set.

I was actually going to leave the card like that!! But I decided it was a bit TOO clean and simple so I added some flowers from the A Beautiful Day Stamp and Die Set.

I used the Broken China Distress Ink to add the colour and also added some darker detail with a blue coloured pencil.  The leaves come from the Stitched Pretty Flowers and Leaves Die Set which were inked with Crushed Olive Distress Ink.

A bit of glitter pen to the flowers and a few black gems finish this card off!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! I love it when you visit!!

See you soon!!
