Floral Frenzy Blog Hop with Scrap N' Stamp Canada!!

Welcome to this month's SNS Blop Hop where the theme is FLORALS!!  What better way to celebrate the arrival of spring than with lots of lovely blooms?!

I love cardmaking with floral images. They are always so much fun to colour, especially watercolour!  For my project today, I didn't use any images. I chose to combine watercolour with die cutting.

I used the recently released Outside In Stitched Flower along with the Stitched Flower Frame Dies to create my bright and happy card!  I die cut all the pieces out of Bristol Paper and used Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks to add some messy colour.

For the white backdrop panel, I used an embossing folder that gives a corrugated look and simply tore around the edges.

The card base is 5 X 4 inches. I wanted some of the flower and leaves to hang off the edge and still have the card fit into a standard envelope.  The card base is made out of Sticky Note cardstock (also from Lawn Fawn) and is available in the Sherbert Pack. For the sentiment, I used the Simple Wavy Banners Dies along with the Wavy Sayings Stamp Set.  I die cut a banner from the same yellow cardstock as well as white.  I stamped the sentiment on the white banner with Versafine Black Onyx Ink then snipped the ends of the yellow banner and layered them underneath.

I just love that sweet smiley face with the rosy cheeks!  I added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the cheeks for a bit of shine. To finish off the card, I added a some Onyx Black Crystals.

Thank you so much for hopping along with us today!!  Remember to visit the SNS Challenge Page on Facebook where you can enter your flowery project!!

My Creative Time 48 Hour Flash Sale & Blog Hop!!

Welcome back to another 48 hour Flash Sale!  This sale is for 48 hours only that starts right now and will end on Sunday, May 5th 2019 at 7am PST!!!  Today, we are showcasing the amazing new stamp and die set called Best Day Ever and Grad Lollipop Holder Die. These two sets are available for purchase HERE!!  Don't forget to use the code "FLASH" at checkout to receive 20% off your entire IN STOCK purchase! Sale only applies to in stock items only!

This stamp and die set was made with graduation in mind but the sentiments can work for many more occasions!  And what I love the most about this stamp set is the dies!! They cut out each sentiment, how awesome is that??!

I used only half of the Grad Lollipop Holder Die to make this card.  Remember, these dies can be used for so much more than what they were intended!  I inked up the white die cut around the edges with a light blue ink.  The tassel is a bit darker and I used a gold Sharpie for the accents.

I popped up the grad cap and adhered it to one of the oval dies from the Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies. I added some patterned paper using the largest die from the same set.  I thought it would be cool to add the year to the card, so I used the Number Fun Dies & Add Ons.  I used white cardstock and added the same ink only to the bottom of each number. I die cut them from craft foam for some dimension.

Now let's talk about that sentiment!!  I used two shades of blue ink for an ombre look and used the co-ordinating die to cut it out...I LOVE THIS!!

I had some gold star sequins in my stash which worked great here!! And that's my project for today!!

Keep hopping along for more inspiration!! Here's the full blog hop lineup:

Gift Card Giving with My Creative Time!

Hey, hi, hello!!  I'm back with another project for My Creative Time!!  Ways to present gift cards are super fun and easy with many dies from Emma.  I used the Pretty Gift Card Holder Die.

This took me less than 10 minutes to make and it packs a bit of a punch!  I used a fun, plaid patterned paper for the base of the holder.  I used plain white cardstock for the fancy label, which is part of the Pretty Gift Card Holder Die Set.  To add a little something, I used the smallest die from the Scalloped Stitched Ovals Die Set for the sentiment.  The sentiment comes from the Mini Spring Greeting Set.

As you know by now, I never have gift cards (even used ones) in my house so I made my using one of the Scalloped Stitched Rectangular Dies.  This is the exact size of a gift card!!

To embellish just a little bit more, I cut a small butterfly outline using the Mini Butterfly Dies and added a few clear sequins.

I do plan to give this to my mom for Mother's Day but add an ACTUAL gift card!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Create A Smile Stamps Challenge...Favourite Critter!!

Oh, this is a fun one!!  Who doesn't love critter stamps?  Especially, Create A Smile critters!!  There are so many adorable and awesome critter stamps in the CAS shop but the one I gravitated towards today was the Dress Me Up set!  If you loved playing with paper dolls as a child, this set is right up your alley!!

I dressed this adorable bear up in some girly surfing gear!  So, of course I needed to create a summery background.  I used the Focal Point Stencil to create sun rays along with a drift stencil to create some sand and water.  I started blending directly on the card base but decided to cut it down with one of the Scalloped Rectangle Dies because a) who doesn't love a good scallop? and b) I LOVE this die set and just had to use it!

The sentiment comes from the Small Sentiments Stamp Set and was stamped onto one of the Speech Bubbles Dies.

Before adhering my little scene to a card base, I decided to use the surfboard image to create a subtle background. Frankly, I have a tough time with too much white space :)

Now, it's time for you to dig out your favourite CAS critter stamp and share a project with us!  We love looking at all your fab creations! Plus, you have a chance to win a €25 gift certificate to the Create A Smile Stamp Store, yay!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!  See you soon!

Tag It Tuesday with My Creative Time!

Hello, friends and welcome back!  It's all about tag making today using products from My Creative Time. While Emma carries a lot of tag dies, I thought I would think outside the box by creating a tag out of something that is not remotely close to a tag!!

I used the Party Hat Dies to make this tag...

This was quite easy and quick to make. I die cut two of the large hat die bases, scored one about 3/4 inch from the top and adhered the two together. This basically creates a shaped card but by adding twine to the top, it instantly becomes a tag!!  I cut the polka dot layer out of a dark blue cardstock, glued it to the base and added a ton of sparkle pen.

To adhere the twine, I cut two of the pom poms out of grey cardstock and sandwiched the cord in between.  Then glued it to the top of the hat.  Easy peasy!

The sentiment comes from the Hello Gorgeous Stamp Set and was stamped on one of the Strip Sentiment Dies.

I rarely do this but I actually stamped a greeting on the inside of this tag which says "wishing you the best". This also comes from the Hello Gorgeous Set.

I hope you enjoyed my take on Tag It Tuesday!  I encourage you to take a look through your stash of dies to see what YOU can make a tag out of!

Until next time...stay crafty!!

Just Cards with My Creative Time!

Hello, friends!! Today, I'm sharing a card made using some brand new and not so new products from My Creative Time!

I'm absolutely addicted and in love with the new Zig Zag Background Die and just had to use it on today's project:)

I layered the white zig zag die over a kraft card base. I die cut a circle using one of the Bunch of Fun Circles Dies out of pink cardstock and to decorate that circle, I used another one of my favourite die sets, the Pretty Stitched Flowers and Leaves Dies.

I used some green and blue shades of cardstock for the flowers and leaves.  Before adhering the die cuts, I white heat embossed a sentiment from the A Friend Like You Stamp and Die Set onto the circle.

I used a combination of foam tape and liquid glue to adhere all the elements to the card base.  I decided to skip any sparkle and shine to this card as I really liked the "flat" finish.

Thanks for stopping by today!!  See you soon!

90th Edition Release Blog Hop and Sale for My Creative Time!!

Welcome to another awesome blog hop for the 90th Edition Release from My Creative Time!!  Wow, 90 releases and they just keep getting better and better!! You likely arrived from the awesome Miss Kendra's Blog.  If not, you can find the full hop list Here!!

I've got THREE card to share with you featuring the new Zig Zag Background Die!!  I absolutely love background dies but I know the price point is often a bit higher. So, I wanted to show you how you can get a little more mileage out of these dies.

You may remember from Tuesday's post, I used an inlay die cut technique using black and white cardstock. Well, this resulted in me having an extra panel in the reverse colours. This is one great thing about background dies, you will often get two projects out of one pass through the die cutting machine!!  Just like on my Tuesday card, I paired a bright colour to contrast with the black/white background..

I die cut the Big Hello Die and the hearts from the 2X2 Noteholder Add-Ons out of a bright pink cardstock.  And instead of using the die in portrait orientation, I used it in landscape, which gives a whole new look to this die!

A little glitter pen on the pink die cuts is all this card needs!  Don't you just love the look of inlay die cutting??

For my next project, I decided to make a stencil out of the background die.  This is just another awesome technique you can do!  I did use a light weight cardstock to create the stencil.  I tried on copy paper and it was just too thin.  But the bonus of this was I, again, got two projects!

The piece on the left is the "stencil", the piece on the right was made using the "stencil".  I love both looks!

After cutting the stencilled piece down with the second largest More Stitched Rectangular Dies, I used the flowers from the 2X2 Noteholder Add-Ons to decorate it.  I used some bright ink colours for the flower so they would stand out against the background.

The sentiment comes from the new Hello Gorgeous Stamp Set and was stamped on a Strip Sentiment Die!  The stems of the flowers come from the Stitched Pretty Flower and Leaves Die Set.

The next and final card is made using the actual "stencil" or background die.  Because I love those zig zags and that colour, I didn't want to cover up too much of the background.

I used the Lucky Bird Die and chose a nice bright yellow shade for good contrast!  The branch comes from the A Friend Like You Stamp & Die Set.  This created a nice focal point but didn't take away from that awesome background!!

The sentiment comes from the A Beautiful Day Stamp & Die Set which again, fit perfectly onto the new Strip Sentiment Dies!!

Here's a look at all three cards!! I'd love to know which is your favourite!!
