Floral Background Stamping with Right At Home Stamps

Hi everyone and welcome back!!  Today's post is a little bitter sweet.  I've been so lucky and honoured to be a guest designer for Nicole and Right At Home Shop.  I'm so sad that it's over :(

For my project, I decided to make a bright floral encouragement card.  I started by stamping multiple flower images from one of my all time favourite sets,  Abstract Florals. This set is amazing.  It has open images as well as solid images that can be used alone or together.

I used inks from Altenew in Spring colours.  Starting with the largest of the images and filling in the gaps with the smaller images.  Because some of these stamps are quite large, I used my Misti for this.

After the solid images were stamped, I took the matching outline stamp and used Versamark Ink and Gold Embossing Powder to add some shine!  I then used the smaller stitched die from the Find the Beauty Die Set to cut the panel out.

For the sentiment, I used the Get Stuff Done set.  This set was intended for planners but don't overlook this set if you're not into planner stamps!  It has some awesome sentiments and the font is fantastic!  I also heat embossed the sentiment and the little heart (also from the Get It Done set) in gold.  I used a cute scalloped circle die from Your Next Stamp to frame the sentiment.  I popped up the circle and the heart with foam adhesive.  And after adding some Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, I mounted the panel onto a top fold A2 card base made from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock.

Thank you for joining me on my month long journey with Right At Home Stamps!!  I enjoyed every second of it!  And a huge thank-you to Nicole for letting me be a part of her amazing team!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Celebrate!!!

Hello everyone!!  I hope your week is off to a good start!  I'm back to share another card with you for Right at Home Shop.  This card combines many RAH products, including the wildly popular Script Greetings Die Set (which will be back in stock soon!).

I started by die cutting the floral images from the Find the Beauty Die Set onto some bright and cheery coloured cardstock. I then took the co-ordinating images from the Find the Beauty Stamp Set and white heat embossed them on each die cut.

I die cut the "celebrate" word, four times out of white cardstock and adhered them together using the Zig Two Way Glue Pen.  My card panel was cut from white cardstock using the smallest frame die from the Find the Beauty Die set.  I blended some Scattered Straw Distress Ink to the middle portion of the panel and did a few water flicks to create some bleaching effect.  The flowers were adhered to the panel using a combination of foam adhesive and tape runner.

I placed the celebrate over top of the flowers, placing adhesive only where the sentiment touched (also, used the Zig pen).  It really looks like the sentiment is floating.  The rest of the sentiment was stamped onto the banner die from the Folded Gift Tag Die Set in grey ink.  To make the banner a bit more dimensional, I cut one from grey cardstock as well, cut it in two and placed it behind the white banner.

To finish, I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the sentiment die cut and the flowers and added a few Radiant Pineapple Sequins.

Thank you for taking the time to visit today!!  Have a great week!!

National Craft Month Celebration Blog Hop with Right at Home Stamps!!

Hello and welcome!!  Today on the Right at Home Blog we are celebrating National Craft Month!!  Wow, a month dedicated to the love of crafting! Nicole has an awesome giveaway so stay tuned to the end of the post for all the details!

I love all things crafty. And all things DIY, which I think is kind of the same thing.  I love painting (walls, that is. I only wish I could actually paint landscapes or florals!), cross-stitch and I occasionally dabble in a bit of sewing, VERY BASIC sewing!!  But my crafty addiction is paper crafts.  Especially stamping and card making.  So it's no surprise that I made a card today!

I used the fabulous new stamp set made especially to celebrate our love of crafting!  This set is going to be one of my all time favorites, I just know it!  I started by stamping a bunch of the images onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock with a waterproof black ink.  I tried something a bit different in the way of colouring today.  I used my Tombow Dual Brush Pens but instead of blending them out with water I used a Dove Blender Pen.  It gives quite a different result.  I then fussy cut them out.

For my card panel, I used the smallest rectangle die from the Find the Beauty Die Set and white cardstock.  For my card base, I used grey cardstock, stamped the Watercolored Background Stamp in Versamark Ink and used Hologram Sparkle Embossing powder from Wow.  It is so sparkly!!

As you can see, this set is full of crafting or hobby images, it is so fun! And the sentiments are amazing. For the sentiment strip, I combined two dies from the Folded Gift Tag Die Set.  This was an experiment and it worked.  Love the way the scallops look underneath the fishtail banner!

I added a ton of Clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to certain parts of each image.  Before adhering the buttons and sentiment, I balled up some silver thread and placed it underneath each so the foam tape could adhere it down.

I hope you like what I've created today because it was sure fun to make!!  Now, who's ready for a giveaway???  For a chance to win this stamp, all you have to do is leave a lovely comment on each stop of the hop. Easy, right?

Hello with Right At Home Stamps

Hi all!! I'm back with a card made with products from Right at Home.  I'm enjoying my gig as a guest designer SO MUCH!!  Have you seen Nicole's latest release?? It will knock your socks off!! It's a combination of cute, classy and inspirational.

For today's card, I used the previously released Cloud Background Stamp.  I used my Misti because I wanted to get an ombre look to the clouds.  Starting with Lake shores Ink from Simon Says Stamp, I inked the entire background. I then used Soft Pool Ink from Hero Arts and inked halfway up each cloud and finally Pool Ink, also from Hero Arts, to ink up only the bottom portion of the clouds.  I should mention that these were done in separate steps, not all at once.

I used the largest rectangle die from the Find the Beauty Die Set to cut down my panel.  I lightly inked the edges with the Lake Shores Ink.  My plan was to do some inlaid die cutting so I got the heart die from the Folded Sweetheart Die Set and the brand new hello die from the Script Greeting Die Set.  I played around with the layout before committing!!

I first cut the scripty part of the sentiment directly from the panel. Next, came the heart.  I thought I was done there but decided to used the outline part of the sentiment as well, which I cut from the panel.

For dimension, I used White Fun Foam.  I cut the heart and the outline portion of the hello die.  After adhering my panel to a white cardbase, my layers went like this:  fun foam heart with cardstock cut out, fun foam hello outline with cardstock cut out, then the scripty portion of the hello into the negative space on the outline die...does that make any sense at all???  Here's a close up to help!!

The different layers add so much dimension and help the sentiment pop!!  To make the hello stand out a bit more, I added some Sakura Stardust Clear Sparkle Pen.  And for embellishments, I used some Clear Heart Drops and Clear Round Drops both from Studio Katia.

I just love how this card came out! I hope you do, too!!  Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Have a great day!!

You Make Me Smile

Hello!!! I hope you are having a fabulous weekend!!  Let me begin by saying that one of my New Year's Resolutions is to pay more attention to my blog.  This poor thing is a tad bit neglected.  I seem to post only when I have to.  So from now on, I plan to make at least one extra post a week. A post that is not related to any design team projects or hops.  I know a lot of bloggers post daily, but I'm not quite there :).  These post will almost always happen on the weekends as I do not have the energy to create after a day at work!  I hope you enjoy these extras :)

For this weekends extra, I've used products from Right At Home and Studio Katia.  I am a part of the design team for Studio Katia, it's a wonderful little online shop based here in Canada and is owned and operated by one super lady!!  Please check out her shop, she has some amazing stamps, dies and sequins (oh my, the sequins!!!).  As for Right at Home, well, I am a super fan of Nicole's stamps and dies. They are like nothing else out there.  Super unique and funky!  So I thought these two small businesses owned by two amazing women deserved to be paired together.

I used my new favourite background stamp, the Cloud Background Stamp from RAH.  I used my Tombow markers in three shades of grey and coloured them directly on the stamp.  Then gave it a light spritz of water.  I placed my watercolour paper directly on top and lightly pressed around.

It gave a super cool effect.  But I found that the lightest grey I used, showed up too light.  So I just added a bit more color to these clouds.  I also added touches of color to the other clouds as well because it enhanced the watercolour look.  I scribbled the grey markers onto an acrylic block, mixed with quite a bit of water and flicked some droplets over the background.  I, then,  used a stitched rectangle die from My Favorite Things to die cut the panel.

For the sentiment, I first die cut a piece of watercolour paper with the smallest of the Stitched Nested Creative Squares.  This die was the perfect fit for a sentiment from the Color In Sentiments set from RAH.

I used two shades of yellow and decided it needed a little darker color at the bottom, which I added with this Tombow marker.  These markers blend out beautifully.  I placed the sentiment panel onto my cloud background and decided it needed a bit more yellow.  I thought ribbon would be perfect but unfortunately the only yellow ribbon I have was WAY TOO yellow!!  So the next best thing?  Cut a thin piece of scrap watercolour paper and use the same three yellow markers to color it!!

I placed the yellow strip onto my cloud panel with TomBow Mono Multi glue and adhered the sentiment with foam tape.  I used the Mono Multi to adhere the cloud panel onto my grey cardbase.  I added some Clear Wink of Stella to all the clouds and the "smile". Next came a layer of Glossy Accents to the "smile"!
It's so hard to capture the sparkle, but trust me its there!!

And there it is!! My weekend "extra"!  I really hope you enjoyed and I really hope you are able to check out these shops!!

Thank you SO much for stopping by!!  And see you soon!
