Starting with "P"!

Hi everyone!!  Last week I picked a new letter for my "Making Use of My Stamps" series.  The letter picked was P.  I knew I had a lot of Paper Smooches stamps and dies but as I was going through my stash, I realized that I also have a lot of Papertrey Ink!!  I don't keep my PTI stamps in with the general population so I totally forgot about them...bad me!!  In this portion of the series, you'll also see some Pretty Pink Posh, Poppy Stamps and Penny Black.

I posted this card on Instagram yesterday for the 30 Day Colour Challenge hosted by the beautiful Kathy Racoosin!  It features the Forest Whimsy Stamp Set from Paper Smooches.  I haven't used my pencil crayons in quite some time so that was my medium of choice.  I have the Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils and I love them!!

I also used the Leaves 1 Dies and the Pinked Circle Dies on this card.

The next two cards feature PaperTrey Ink.  I love PTI products but have not ordered from there for a long time due to shipping costs :(  This first card uses the Lovely Layers Stamp Set and the Co-ordinating Dies.  These dies are solid, which I'm not really a fan of (only because my stamping is ALWAYS off!).  I used all Catherine Pooler Inks for the stamping, love these inks for so many reasons, but that's another post!

Because the colours are so vibrant, I left the card fairly neutral.  I also used the Basic Bookmark 3 Die.   As an afterthought, I added a strip of sparkly washi tape to one side, I felt like it needed some shine!

And my final card for today uses one of my all time faves from PTI,  the Be Happy Stamp Set. Unfortunately, I could not find this set on the PTI website.  The shop still carries the Dies, which can totally be used on their own!

Again, I used CP Inks for the stamping.  This card is so happy, love the way it turned out!

I think I'm really going to enjoy the letter P!!  From whimsical and cute to classy and elegant, this is going to be fun!!

Thanks for stopping by today, I really appreciate it!

Hugs!

Last of the "L"'s

Hello and Happy Sunday!  Today will be the last day of using stamps with "L".  I've decided to pick another letter...and again, it's a good one.  I'll share at the end of this post!

My first card features the ever cute stamps from Love Cynthia.  I used the Stay Classy stamp, which I tried to link to but it was taking me to the wrong stamp set :(.

Isn't that sentiment the greatest (sorry, it's stamped so crookedly)?!  I used my Copic markers to colour her.  The dies are from Lawn Fawn, Circle Stackables and Scalloped Circle Stackables.

Speaking of Lawn Fawn, my next card uses both the above mentioned die sets as well as the Winter Sparrows stamps and dies (sorry, out of stock @ Simon).

I coloured these cuties with Zig Clean Colour markers.

And lastly, comes Lil' Inker Designs!  I have had the Eat More Donuts stamp set and Dies for quite awhile now and have never used them :(.  What a fun set this is to stamp out!  I love that the donut shape is perfectly round and all the yummy toppings you can create with this set.

I also used the Anytime Tags and the Diamond Chevron Cover up Die.  This turned out pretty cute.

So the next letter in the Making Use of my Stamps blog series is.....

"P"!!!

Another awesome letter.  Be warned, I have a lot of Paper Smooches!!

Thanks for stopping by today!  See you soon!

Making Use of My Stamps..L's!

Hello and welcome back!  It's Sunday which means it's time for another Making Use of My Stamps series.  As you know, the last letter picked was L.  I've made 3 cards using stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn, Lil' Inker and Love Cynthia.

First up is a card made using the When it Rains, Look for a Rainbow stamp set from Love Cynthia.  I used some new, super inexpensive liquid watercolours to create a night sky or galaxy background.  I did add some of the metallic paints from the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolours (36) for a little shimmer.  I am in need of a good white paint for splatters!!

I also used the same paints to colour that sweet image!

I messed up on the sentiment but I didn't want to cover it up.  And that's card #1!

Next, I used the Blue Skies Stamp Set and Co-ordinating Dies for this card:

I white heat embossed the images before colouring them with, you guessed it, my new watercolours!  This card came out super cute except that I had so much warping on mt watercolour paper that it actually started to curl the cardbase!!  I have to start taping my paper down!

A bit of Glossy Accents, sparkle pen and sequins finish this card off.

And lastly, I used the Sweet Celebration stamp set and Co-ordinating Dies along with the Celebrate Word Die, all from Lil' Inker Designs.  This card has NO watercoloring :)

The florals in this set are beautiful.  And I've recently become addicted to Catherine Pooler Inks so that's what I used here.  I left the cardbase white (which was hard for me!) and simply adhered all the die cuts with liquid glue and foam adhesive.

This one is my favourite!

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my newest cards!  I hope you enjoyed. And I hope you'll take some time to give your older stamps some love!

See you soon!!

Making Use of My Stamps...L!!!!

Hi everyone!!  It's time for another instalment in my "Making Use of my Stamps Series"!  This past week I decided to draw a new letter.  I was enjoying the letter m but was excited to see what was coming next!

The lucky letter is..."L"!!  I was really happy with this draw.  I know I have a lot of fun stamps in this letter, including Love Cynthia, Lil' Inker and Lawn Fawn.

This first card uses stamps from Love Cynthia and dies from Lawn Fawn.  I used the Somebunny Loves You stamp set which, by the looks of it, is discontinued.  Sorry about that.  As I'm going through and using these stamps, I'm realizing just how long they've been sitting!!

I used the Stitched Rectangle Frames Dies from Lawn Fawn to frame my little scene.

Next, I used the Fab Flowers Stamps and Dies from Lawn Fawn. Instead of stamping the solid images in this stamp set, I blended ink on each die cut and stamped the detail layer.  I used inks from Simon Says Stamp, Hero Arts and Altenew.

And finally, for my last card, I used Lil' Inker products.  I used quite a few products on this little 4.25X4.25 card!  And now that I look at this, there is NO STAMPING!!!

I used the Stitched Woodgrain Cover Up Die for the background on the white panel.  The tag is from the Anytime Tags Die Set, the sentiment is from the Everyday Word Tags Die Set and the butterflies are from the Stitched Butterflies Die Set!!  And I actually used some patterned paper.

Thank you for stopping by!!  I'll be back with more cards in the "L" category over the next few weeks!!  Also, thank you if you're playing along with me.  I hope you're finding some hidden treasures in your stash!!

See you soon!!!

The Letter "M" continues..

Let's carry on with the letter "m", shall we?!  I'm slowly making my way through my stamps in this category and am still having so much fun!

Let's see what I've come up with this week!

My first card uses a stamp/die set from My Creative Time.  I love this card!! It is super elegant and was very easy to make!  The set is called Springtime in Paris.

I have not used this set and I wonder to myself why not.  This set has a lot of sentiments in french, the swirls and of course the Eiffel Tower.  The die comes along with the stamps!

My next card features Mama Elephant.  I used the Carnival Cupcakes stamp set and the Co-ordinating Cuts.  I made the card base out of the Index Card Creative Cuts Set.

The sentiment was made using the Hollow Letters stamp set.  Honestly, not one of my favourite alpha sets but cute none the less! I do however, adore the cupcake set!!

And lastly, and quite possibly my favourite card, features My Favourite Things.  I got the Feel Better Stamps and Dies.  This set is ON SALE RIGHT NOW over at Butterfly Reflections Ink!!!

This set has the cutest medicine bottles along with a bowl, spoon and mug.  These pill bottles are super adorable and they were so much fun to colour!!  The scalloped panel and the sentiment banner comes from the Blueprints #27.  The sentiment comes from the Essential Sentiments set.

I hope you enjoyed this week's instalment of my blog series!

See you Soon!!

Continuing with the letter "M"!

Hello all and welcome back!  Today i'm sharing my recent cards made using stamps and dies from My Favourite Things, Mama Elephant and My Creative Time!  I'm really enjoying rediscovering all that I have!!  I'm getting excited to draw the next letter but I have so much more to discover in this letter category :)

My first card features Mama Elephant.  I used the Blogging Buddies stamp set and Co-ordinating Dies for my images and sentiment.  I have never used this set and I really wonder why.  It's adorable!

I coloured the computer pink (because who wouldn't love a pink computer!) using my Copic markers.  For the background, I die cut the images from white cardstock using the Index Card Creative Cuts die set.  The two panels are also included in this set...again, I think I may have used this set once, and not all of it!!

A little bit of sparkle pen, Glossy Accents and Dandelion Yellow Crystal Drops finish this card.

My next card uses products from My Creative Time and My Favourite Things.  I had a panel already created using the Cloud Stencil and Wonky Stitched Rectangles. So I thought it would pair perfectly with the Thanks for the Lift Stamp and Die Set.

I used my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers for the colouring. Again, added sparkle and Glossy Accents as well as a few Sparkling Clear Sequins.

And lastly, the card with all My Favourite Things products!  I really like this one.  It's definitely clean and simple compared to the last two!  I used the Wonky Stitched Rectangles for the centre panel and left it white. I stamped, coloured and die cut a couple of flowers from the Springtime Blooms and its Co-ordinating Dies.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I used the Sentiment strips One dies (which, by the looks of it, are no longer available). I believe that die set was one of my very first!!

I foam mounted everything onto the white panel and adhered that directly onto a grey card base.  I kept it simple and added 3 black pearls.  I think this may be my favourite of the three!!  Let me know which one is your favourite!!

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope this series is inspiring you to go through your stash and make what's old, new again!!

Making Use of My Stamps!!

Hello everyone!!  Today I'm starting something new.  I don't know about you, and I hope I'm not the only one guilty of this, but I have stamp sets that I've used only once or not at all!!
I find myself buying and buying but never using.  I thought by starting a series on my blog, it would A.  Make me accountable and actually do what I set out to do and B.  Maybe, just maybe, I will hopefully spend a little less each month!

My plan involves this:  I have each letter of the alphabet in a little green pail.  Roughly once a month, I will pick a letter and use only the stamps and dies from the company starting with that letter.  For example:  If i picked the letter "y", I would use Your Next Stamp products.  I will post every Sunday until I've gone through every company!!

I stamped the entire alphabet using the Sophisticated Script set from Concord & 9th and snipped them apart.

I put this little video on Instagram last night to show the first letter.  Which was....

I have 2 "H" companies.  Hero Arts and HoneyBee Stamps.  I have a lot of HoneyBee products so I decided to start with Hero Arts, of which I'm lacking!!  For my first project, I decided to use the Luggage Tag Alphabet with co-ordinating dies and the Colour Layering Pineapple stamps and dies.

This card changed directions quite a few times and took me awhile.  I started by stamping the pineapple with Hayride (WPlus9), Sunshine (SSS) and Caramel Toffee (Altenew) and the top in Beanstalk (SSS), Leaf Green (SSS) and Midnight Green (SSS).

This little flower that is also in the Pineapple set, I stamped with Hollyhock (SSS) and Miami Spice (Wplus9).

I die cut "aloha" using the alpha dies and blended them with Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks.

I wanted my pineapple to be the centre of attention so I smooshed some Embossing Ink all over it and coated it in Ultra High Clear Embossing Powder.  This was so cool!!

I was scared to touch them for the longest time because they look wet!!  Photos don't do this justice, it's incredible!!

I ink blended some Scattered Straw Distress Ink directly onto the front of my card base and started to adhere my elements.  I foam mounted the pineapple (I used tons of adhesive to help hold it up!) at the centre of the card, then used liquid adhesive to mount the letters.

As you can see, the pineapple is now the "O".

With all the shine of the pineapple, I kept embellishments to a minimum and used three Enchanted Sea sequins from Studio Katia.

There it is. My first official project of this experiment!!  Because I don't own many Hero Arts products, the rest of the month will likely be a lot of Honeybee Stamps or a combination of both!! Who knows!?!  I will say that when it comes to letters like L, M, P, S and W, it may take longer than a month because there are multiple companies and I want to play with them all!!!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll follow along with me!  I'm sure to come across oldies but goodies!! Which is actually the whole point of this :)

On a side note, I will be linking everything to Butterfly Reflections Ink or Simon Says Stamp as these are the two places I order from the most!!

See you soon!!

Laurie
