Thank you card with Simon Says Stamp

Hello Everyone!!  I'm going to share a card I made today using some old and some new goodies from Simon Says Stamp.
First I cut a panel of watercolour cardstock using my NEW Stitched Rectangles from Simon...wanted these for so long and managed to snag them at 30% off on Black Friday...score!!
I then stamped different sizes of solid hearts from the Tons of Hearts stamp set in Distress Inks.  I should mention I did a little practice run at this...
After I stamped the hearts I spritzed the paper with plain water, which created this pretty cool effect!!
I thought that in a few places the hearts seemed to lose their shape, so I decided to stamp the outline shape in the same colour.
Now, of course I thought they were too defined, lol!!  So I took a wet paintbrush and pounced it over the line stamps.
I then misted the entire panel, lightly, with Perfect Pearls and water to give it a subtle shimmer.  Next, I used the Thanks Scallop Border Die from Simon.
I thought it looked a bit plain, as I was layering this piece on Ivory cardstock.  So I die cut the Thanks die out of some Green Apple cardstock, and inlaid the letters..
I used the Many Thanks stamp set from Mama Elephant to finish off the sentiment, foam mounted to my ivory card base and placed three pink hearts below.

Hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!!

Until next time....Stay Crafty!!

Laurie

  1. It's gorgeous!! I love the splodgy look of those stamped images. I've never thought of stamping with distress inks - I'm very new to them and everyone seems to mostly use them for blending. I'm so glad you've got the stitched rectangle dies - I use them all the time. Best purchase ever. Thanks for sharing. Xx

    1. Thank you so much Ruth!! I have other stitched rectangles but not with the double stitching...I love these ones!! Distress inks are so versatile. I actually prefer to use them for watercoloring over any other medium I have!!! They are just so easy and blend so well!!

  2. Wow I agree with Ruth, this card is a stunner!! Great thinking with the green inlaid letters. It's all just so very pretty <33.
Maybe next year I will have the mind to save some money for the black Friday sales, lol. This year (like last year :P) I had already spent my "budget", if you will. Simon probably has my favorite basic shape dies because they have double stitched lines. :)

    1. Thank you, Stephanie for your kind comments!! And as for actually saving money for Black Friday..that's pretty funny!! I literally have zero will power when it comes to crafty stuff. My budget for the year is blown on the first January releases!! I really do have a problem..if there was a detox facility for craft addicts, I would sign myself in!!
