My Creative Time 95th Edition Release Blog Hop & Sale!!

Welcome to this months release blog hop for My Creative Time!!  Are you ready for a ton of inspiration? I love this release SO much and have had a blast creating with it!!

For my project today, I used the new Mailbox Gift Card Holder Die Set along with the Dec. 25th Stamp Set.  I decided to make a mailbox shaped card!

I used one of my most used MCT dies to decorate the mailbox, the Lucky Bird Die. It's very easy to turn this into a shaped card. The die set comes with not only the stitched die, but also a layer die. Simply cut two of the base layer die, score one 3/4inch from the top, add adhesive and stick the two together!! Then add the stitched layer and voila, a mailbox shaped card!!

This is such a fantastic die set!

Create A Smile Stamps Mood Board!

Welcome to another Create A Smile Stamps challenge!  This time around we have a beautiful mood board for inspiration.  Mood boards can be tricky but just go with the flow and see where it takes you!

My inspiration came from the colours and also the shape of a circle.

I used the Huge Polka Dot Stencil with some Hickory Smoke Distress Ink for the background.  My focal panel is a circle cut from one of the Postage Edge Circles.  I thought it would be fun to have a bright red radio so I coloured up this vintage looking radio from the Radio Rock Stamp Set. This mini stamp set is so much fun! Before foam mounting the radio onto the circle, I stamped a few of the music notes around it.

The fun sentiments come from the Small Sentiments Stamp Set and were stamped onto small speech bubbles from the Speech Bubbles Cool Cuts Die Set.  These were also foam mounted.  I added the circle panel with foam tape onto the card base, which is 4X4 inches, by the way. I added some sparkle pen and Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the radio to give a shiny, retro look!

And that's my project for you today! I hope you enjoyed and will play along with us!

Remember, you have a chance to win a €25 gift certificate to the CAS shop!  Link up your creations on the CAS Challenge Blog. We LOVE to see what you create!!

My Creative Time 95th Edition Sneak Day #3!

Are you ready for another awesome sneak peek from the upcoming My Creative Time release?!

We have another fun die to show you.  I happen to love this one because of its versatility!Bow dies are always fun to have in our stashes.  This particular one lies flat on your projects for easy mailing!  This die is called the Medium Holiday Bow Die.

I decided to make dimensional hanging ornaments!  These will be perfect for Christmas decorations but changing up the colours of paper, they can be used for any season!

I cut the pieces of the bow out twice. To add the dimension, I die cut the base of the bow out of craft foam.  I glued the paper die cuts onto the front and the back to the craft foam. I then added the ribbon before attaching the small, white square die cut.

I used a few of the small elements from the Holiday Envelope Die (yesterday's sneak peek!) and cut them from gold glitter paper!  I love the way these turned out and almost can't wait to set up the Christmas tree!  I plan to make a whole lot more of these!!

This release will also include a smaller version of this die called the Small Holiday Bow Die.  And stayed tuned because we have a special die and announcement coming up this Friday!!

My Creative Time 95th Edition Sneak Peek #1!

Welcome back my friends!! My Creative Time has a spectacular release coming this month! Well, they're all spectacular but this one, in particular, has got my mojo going!! Emma is releasing some amazing new Christmas goodies so help with your holiday gift giving. However, most of this release can be used year round!

Today, we are starting with the Dec.25th Stamp Set and the Mailbox Gift Card Holder.  These work well on their own but pair perfectly together!

This gift card holder is adorable! I decided to decorate my mailbox with flowers made from the Flower Petal Dies. I used red cardstock to make them look Christmas-y.

A gift card fits perfectly inside the slot of the mailbox!  The sentiment is from the new Dec.25th Stamp Set and was stamped onto a label which is also included in this die set!

I love this die set SO much! It is fun and beautiful all wrapped into one!

Thank you for stopping by today! See you tomorrow for another amazing sneak peek!!

MFT's 2019 Card Design Superstar Challenge!

Hi everyone and welcome back!  I've decided to enter the MFT 2019 Card Design Superstar Challenge!! This is always daunting as there are so many talented card makers out there!

Last year I entered the Clean and Simple category but white space isn't my forte, haha!  So, this time around I thought I'd enter into the Colouring Virtuoso category. Now, I do not possess an outstanding technical ability (I totally googled the meaning of virtuoso, hahahaha) in colouring. But as I sat down to create this card, I thought it leaned more towards colouring than CAS.

I decided to make a shaped card using some older, oval dies from MFT. The Stitched Mini Scallop Ovals the Double Stitched Oval (which appear to not be available anymore).  I created the base by die cutting 2 of the scalloped ovals, scoring one about 3/4 inch from the top and adhering them together.

I stamped the flower from the Beautiful Bloom Stamp Set with Versamark Ink then used clear embossing powder over top.  I watercoloured it using the Vintage Pastels set from Prima in the colour    Breezy. I added a bit of Stone Grey to the centre and an even more watered down version of the same colour around the outside of the flower.

I used the Double Stitched Oval Die to cut a portion of the image and layered it onto the card base. It was at this point I decided it needed a popped up frame. I nested the Double Stitched Oval die inside the Scalloped Oval Die and ran it through my die cutting machine to create the frame. I used foam tape to adhere it and give it more dimension.

Before adhering the sentiment, I decided to add some flicks of a darker colour using coloured pencils in 2 shades of green. This really made the image pop and gave it some much needed detail!  The sentiment comes from the Essential Sentiments Stamp Set.  Before calling this card done, I added a few Sparkling Clear sequins.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Circle Bursts...Your Next Stamp Preview!

I'm baaaack! Welcome, friends!  Today, I'm sharing a little look at another of the stamps sets coming in the new Your Next Stamp release!!  All sets will be available TODAY,  September 12th @ 11am EST , so be ready!!

This little stamp set is called Circle Bursts and is perfect for backgrounds and festive scene making!  You should never overlook these small sets. Not only do they have a great price point, they are often packed with images and sentiments!

I created a background using Tattered Rose, Dusty Concord and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Inks. After the panel was dry, I used Gold Sparkle Embossing Powder from WOW to heat emboss the three circle burst images.  To add some fun interest, I used a few of the Circles-Piercing Holes Die Set to cut around each of the bursts. They fit perfectly!!

I coloured up the cute, singing rabbit from the new Birthday Song Stamp Set with alcohol markers and foam mounted him to the panel.  To give my rabbit some sort of ground, I used one of the Scrapworks-Strips Die Set to stamp the sentiment.

I love the way this card turned out and I love these Circle Bursts!  I hope you enjoyed todays preview!  Please visit the YNS Blog for links to all the amazing projects from the design team and guests!!

And here's a look at the fabulous deals!!

Easy Faux Watercolour for Scrap N Stamp Canada!

Welcome to another fun blog hop and challenge for Scrap N' Stamp Canada!!  This one is so much fun and is going to be quite popular I think!  This months theme is watercolour!! Watercolour Wishes, in fact!

I used the Gina K Designs Wreath Builder Bundle for my project today. I love this system of stamps and templates (stencils)!  The possibilities are endless. You can use almost any stamps you already own with these templates as well.

Now, while I love to watercolour lined images, I also like using water based inks/markers to come up with fun and easy techniques. I chose to do some watercolour stamping to create a beautiful faux watercolour look!  This technique works with solid image stamps, which happen to be in the Wreath Builder stamp sets!

The technique is quite simple. Add colour to the stamp, add a bit of water with a damp paintbrush or water brush and stamp down!  That's it!  Your results will vary depending on the amount of water you add. I didn't want my images to distort too much so I used very little water. However,  by adding more water, the images will be more fluid which would look beautiful as well!  To show how easy this process is, I put together a video!!

I used Distress Inks on the card today, mostly because I LOVE the colours.  I used: Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey and Antique Linen. For the sentiment, I used my favourite shade of embossing powder, Metallic Brass from WOW...I'm addicted to this stuff and the moment!

With a bit of ink, a bit of water and a few turns of your paper/cardstock, you will end up with wreath that looked like it took you hours to create!

Your Next Stamp Preview!!!

Hello, friends and welcome back! Today I have the pleasure of giving you a little preview of one of the new stamp sets from Your Next Stamp!  YNS is one of my favourite companies and the fact that they're Canadian makes me love them more!!

We're having a look at the super cute set called Birthday Song. This little set features two critters singing their hearts out!

I coloured these cuties up with alcohol markers and used the co-ordinating dies to cut them out. I used a confetti-like stencil and a few Catherine Pooler inks to ink up a simple background.

The sentiment was stamped onto a speech bubble die cut (which came from an older die set from YNS). I used a die to create the stitched frame which I adhered to the inked background.  The critters and the sentiment were foam mounted.

I placed the panel a little crooked on the card base for a bit of added interest. Of course, I had to add some music notes, which are also included in the Birthday Song set, as well as a few clear sequins!

This set is so darned cute and bound to put a smile on someones face!

Please visit the Your Next Stamp Blog where you'll find ALL the previews for today!  Also, check out YNS on Instagram!! One random comment from each preview day will win that days product! All comments must be left by September 15, 2017 with the winners being announced on September 17th, 2019 on the YNS Blog!!
