Here is what I made..
I do not make a lot of shaker cards. I love them, I just have a hard time making them!! I don't own a fuse tool or even have extra acetate packaging kicking around...that's how often I make them :). So I had to think outside the box for this card. I ended up using a CD storage pocket for my shaker, as I do have A LOT of those. I trimmed a white piece of cardstock to 4.25 X 4.25 and embossed it with a dot embossing folder. I die cut the word "Big" three times and adhered them together then glued that to the embossed panel. I stamped all the layers for the flowers and the leaves to create those pretty flowers and also adhered them onto the base panel. At this point I realized I didn't actually have a sentiment stamped...of course. So, out came my MISTI to help me stamp the word Hugs. I slipped the panel into the CD pocket and added some tiny hearts, yellow sequins and a few silver hearts confetti. I adhered the pocket closed with some double sided adhesive and BOOM, done!! To finish off, I tied a piece of black ribbon around the top and then adhered the entire shaker onto a square card base (this will hide the back of the pocket). This card measures 5X5.

It's brilliant! Shows how you don't always need all the fancy tools, just imagination! (Although you know I love my gadgets!!) it's a gorgeous card. Xx

ReplyDeleteWonderful. After seeing this I'm not sure exactly what a CD storage pocket is. I know what a CD plastic case is and a CD sleeve but this has the white paper with the plastic circle on front. I'll google what the CD storage pocket is. Have a BEE-utiful day!
