Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #22

Image
Hi all!!  I'm back with a quick card!!  I made this for the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge.Flickr Challenge #22!  The challenge is to create something with Rainbow Colors!

I die cut 3 small and three large feathers from the Simon Says Stamp "Feathers" dies out of watercolor paper.  Then "smooshed" them into some Rainbow Colors of Distress Inks (Festive Berries, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Salty Ocean and Dusty Conchord).

I adhered them to my front panel, lined up the "Big Hello" die from Simon Says Stamp and ran that through my Cuttlebug. I cut three more Hello's out of cheap black cardstock to give the sentiment some dimension.

I adhered to panel to the front of my A2 cardbase, pieced in the die cut Hello and all of its pieces, gave a layer of Wink of Stella clear Glitter pen and a dollop of Glossy Accents.  I did add some white pearls because I thought it looked a little plain...

Hope you like!!   Until next time...

Up, Up & Away

Image
Happy Friday!!  So I've been playing with a lot of my new stamps and dies lately. A lot of Simon Says Stamp products (www.simonsaysstamp.com) and Ellen Hutson products (www.ellenhutson.com). All of which I absolutely adore!!  But, I may be alone alone here but I actually start to feel sorry for my older sets, the sets I haven't touched for awhile.  So I started flipping through my PaperTrey Ink (www.papertreyink.com) sets and came across the Up, Up and Away set.
This is such a great set and it has been ignored for a long time!  I knew I wanted to use my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers today and then thought some masking would be fun.  I stamped and masked the balloons to create my seen and white heat embossed on Canson watercolor paper. I also created masks using Inkadinkadoo Stamp Masking paper. Next I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and a blending tool to lightly color the background.  I die cut a mask out of typing paper with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Clouds dies and reink…

Watercolor Doily Card

Image
Well, holy smokes!!  Two posts in one weekend!!  Like I said in my last post, I've been lazy, so I guess now I'm making up for it!!  Actually, I've bought some pretty amazing goodies over the last little while and am feeling very crafty again...lost the mojo for awhile, but inspiration came in the mail!!
This card all started with a messy sketch, something I don't do often.
I knew I wanted to use the Mini Delicate Doily dies from MFT and inlay them. So, I lined them up and cut them out.
So now I had plain white doilies, which I thought would look good!  But they didn't. So I cut them again from watercolor paper and used Distress Inks in pinks, yellows and blues and the "smooshing" technique to color them.

Now, while I was doing this, I had no idea I was making a mess on my card panel: So, that just meant that my banner would be strategically placed.  Worked out well (better, in fact) in the end.  I placed my doilies into their respective places and stam…

Ink Obsession

Image
Hi all!!  I know its been a little while and I'm not even going to make any excuses....I'm lazy, that's it. Truth is I haven't actually been doing a lot of card making lately.  I've been obsessed with rearranging my craft space, which turns into rearranging almost the entire house!!  But I think I'm happy and satisfied with it now!  So now the crafting can begin again:)
I've also been on kind of a spending spree (if you follow me on Instagram, you'll be well aware of this).  Not good.  Well, it is good in the way that I get fabulous new goodies delivered to my door every week.  Not so good that the Visa is taking a nasty hit.  If my husband actually knew what this stuff costs, he would freak out!  But whatever makes me happy, right?!?
It all started with me wanting new inks.  And trying to keep the cost down I went with the new Ranger dye inks over the Simon Says Stamp inks.  When I received them I was excited because there was good reviews but when I …
