Here is what I made...

I wanted to "think outside the box" for this project.  I created a handful of mini shaped cards that could be used as lunch box notes or even tags!!  To be honest, once I started these I couldn't stop!!  I wanted to try ALL my stamps with this technique!!!  I used stamps with co-ordinating dies as well as stamps that didn't have dies...just to see if I could do it :).  Here are a couple more pics!  Please let me  know if anyone would like a tutorial on how this is done...although it's not hard to figure out :)

Here are all the CDD products I used:

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Until next time...Stay Crafty!!

Craftin' Desert Divas January Release Blog Hop!!!!!

Welcome to the CDD January Stamp & Die Release Blog Hop.
All stamps & Dies are in the CDD Shop and now available for purchase HERE.

Here's what I've created for you...

This card is showcasing the new Fancy Stitched Label Dies.  These dies remind me of vintage frames. So I paired them up with the vintage-looking truck from the Farmer's Market stamp set.  I coloured the truck using my Stabile pens and water.  I also, used a die from the Fancy Frames die set. To finish off, I just traced an outline with a brown marker.

My next project uses the stamp set Sweet Kisses.  This set is full of everything you need to create a "Sweet Handmade Card or Baked Goodies"!!  I stamped the whisk image to create my own border.  I coloured in the images with my Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut them out.  Of course, I used the Fancy Frames dies as well with this card :).  I added Wink of Stella to the whisks (hard to tell in the photo) and some white dots on the frosting of the cake with a white gel pen.  And of course, a few sequins to finish it off!!

And finally, my third project uses the Super Cute Slow mini stamp set.  He is just too cute and I've had a blast using this little guy!!!  I stamped him directly onto the base of my card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I created a partial mask (of his rear end only) so I could stamp the balloons from the It's All About Zoo stamp set. I masked the balloons as well and stamped them twice.  I coloured the images in using my Lyra Rembrandt PolyColor pencils.  I actually cut the sentiment up so I could stamp only the "get well soon" portion.  I was going to leave it as it was but if you know me, I have a bit of an issue with too much white space.  So I used the Stitched Scallop Dies to create the edge...these dies are awesome because they leave stitching lines on both pieces!  I adhered some bright pink cardstock to the inside of the panel, rounded the bottom corners and added stitching line detail with a white get pen.  I added Glossy Accents to the balloons and the shell of the turtle.

I so hope you enjoyed these cards!!  This release is just the sweetest!!!

Love/Hate with One Layer Cards

Hi Everyone!!  I wanted to share a quick attempt at a one layer card.  As the title suggests, I have a love/hate relationship with them.  I absolutely love one layer cards. They can go from elegant and classy to fun and cute!!  I dislike one layer cards because, well, I just can't pull that style off.  Or have a tough time doing so.
So, when the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge came out, I thought I'd give it a shot.  That, and I haven't participated in a challenge for awhile.

I started with an Oatmeal piece of cardstock and the Roses for You stamp set from Simon.

I embossed the front of the card base with a polka dot embossing folder, something I haven't used in a LONG time, so I cannot link to it!!  I also dug out of the embossing bin some embossing diffusers.  These are also one of the very first purchases I made when I started down this road, so I can't link to these either, but I think they are a Darice product.

To define the edge of the embossing, I tried to emboss with a stylus around the section which did not get embossed.  Well, all I ended up doing was going in a crooked line and starting to over-score (starting to tear the paper :)
I decided to take a marker in Sepia and drew stitch lines instead.

Next I stamped the flower images and a few leaves inside the rectangle, using Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

I used my Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils to color and outline the flowers...love those pencils, by the way!!  I got them through Amazon.ca.

So this is where I discovered I didn't leave a spot for a sentiment. No big deal if this wasn't a one layer card!!!  I couldn't use a sentiment from this stamp set, I needed to find something TINY, hopefully that would fit in between the embossed dots!  And wouldn't you know it, I found a mini stamp set, also from Simon Says called More Tag Words.  The word "friend" was tiny enough!!!  And also a vertical sentiment which I thought was kind of cool!!

I finished by inking around the edges of the card with the same Memento Ink and added a few candy dots that I found in my stash (StampinUp).
Here is the finished one layer card...

I did have fun with this (it was certainly a challenge), and maybe I'll try more!

Hope you enjoyed, thanks for stopping by!!
