I am so excited about this kit!! It is sunshine and happiness all packaged into one. I had so much fun with this kit and can't wait to show you what I made!!
I don't make many interactive cards but seeing this kit, I knew I just had to make a shaker card with that sun die!
I die cut the sun out of white cardstock and coloured it using shades of yellow and orange Copic markers. I used the stitched circle die, that's included in the kit, to cut the centre of the sun out. I added a small piece of acetate to the back of the sun. Now, the tricky part was the foam adhesive. Its a very small area so the pieces of foam had to be very tiny. A little tedious but so worth the effort!! I added some gold seed seeds and placed another sun die cut which I coloured up as well.
I die cut one of the rectangles from the Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Dies, then used one of the dies from the More Stitched Edges to create a puffy cloud edge. I added the panel with a double layer of foam tape so it was the same height as the sun shaker.
I coloured the "sunshine" die with the same colours of markers and glued it to the white, cloud panel. Now, of course, no project of mine wouldn't be complete without one boo-boo. After everything was glued and popped up, I decided to stamp the sentiment. This did not work as my foam tape was uneven and the ink in the centre of the stamp did not transfer. This was easily fixed by die cutting one of the Stitched Cartoon Cloud Dies and stamping the sentiment on it!
Now, I also made a bonus card! Here's a way to use the sun die in a different way. For flowers!!!!
By blending some fun colours on these die cuts and adding yellow centres, they easily turn into flowers. I added a few Stitched Leaves and black enamel dots to complete the look. The sentiment is also from the kit!

I wanted to say thanks for posting these cards. Firstly, because I found an awesome kit that I just had to have (just purchased it- can't wait to get it). And secondly because I have another stamp set featuring sunflowers with dies but without a center cut out (if that makes sense) this gave me another way to use them that I hadn't thought of- just add a circle die from another set. Yay!
ReplyDeleteLovely cards.
