Throwback Thursday with My Creative Time!!

Hello, crafty peeps and welcome back!! It's all about going back in time today and revisiting some older stamps and dies from My Creative Time.  I love Throwback Thursday because it lets me play with sets that may be feeling a bit left out.

I made a Winter themed card today using a bit of simple masking. I don't do masking a lot because I find it kind of tedious but I have to admit, the end result is pretty awesome! I started by stamping the large mugs from the Hot Chocolate Season Stamp and Die Set. (This is a great set that has many different winter and Christmas sentiments.)  I stamped the same images on a full sticky Post-It note, as well.

Normally when you cut a mask, you trim around the outside of the image. I wanted to decorate the mugs themselves so in this case, I cut on the inside of the image...

I wanted to protect the outer area, not the inside.  I wanted my mugs to have a bit of a floral pattern to them so I used the smallest floral image from the A Beautiful Day Stamp and Die Set. It fit perfectly into the corner of the mug.

Masking always looks like a hot mess but this is the result...

It looks like the flower was a part of the original stamp, so cute!!  I coloured up the images with my alcohol markers and for a special added touch, I put a little textured embossing powder on the whipped cream!

I want these mugs in real life!!  To put the card together, I die cut a piece of white cardstock and pink patterned paper with a simple circle die. Using one of the More Stitched Edges Dies, I trimmed down the pink paper and adhered it to the white circle.

I went with this sentiment as I didn't necessarily want this to be a Christmas card.  I foam mounted the circle onto a kraft panel that was cut with one of my all-time favourite die sets, the XOXO Border Dies.

The kraft panel was adhered to a white card base.  At this point, I struggled with adding embellishments.  I wasn't really happy with the way anything looked so I left it plain. EXCEPT for shimmer pen on the flowers and the heart, of course!

Throwback Thursday with My Creative Time!!

Welcome back! So glad you're here:).  Today we're stepping back in time and using some older products from My Creative Time.

I chose to use the Springtime in Paris stamp and die set for my card today. This set is just beautiful. I combined it with the emboss resist technique which is one of my faves!

I started by stamping the large flourish image repeatedly onto a white card panel using Versamark ink.  I heat embossed using clear embossing powder.  I chose Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Inks for the blending as these take no effort at all to blend.

I sprayed and flicked some water onto the panel to create that awesome bleached effect. NOTE: this is not watercolour paper. The reaction is much quicker on regular cardstock and creates a mottled effect..which I like.

I set that aside to dry and stamped the Eiffel Tower Image, also using Versamark and heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  I repeated this twice to get a nice thick coat of embossing!

I used the largest die from the XOXO Border Dies (one of my favourite sets), and adhered that onto a card base of the same size which is approximately 3.75 X just under 5....I'm terrible with measurements :(

To break the background up a little bit, I stamped the sentiment on a small strip of white cardstock using the Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  I foam mounted the Eiffel tower to give a bit of dimension.

For a bit of sparkle, I added a few Sparkling Clear Sequins.

All in all, a very feminine card.  I should mention that this stamp and die set is ON SALE NOW for an incredible price :)

Throwback Thursday with My Creative Time!

Hello and happy Thursday!!  We're kickin' it old school today at My Creative Time by using older stamps and dies to create our projects!  I love this theme as it gives me chance to give some attention to my older sets!

I used the Way To Go Stamp and Die set as the focal point for my card. The bicycle is just so cute!

I created the scene by using a couple of dies from the More Stitched Edges Set. One to create a stencil for the background clouds and another to cut the grassy hill.  Everything was adhered to the largest of the rounded rectangles in the Scalloped Stitched Rectangular Dies.  The clouds are from the  Stitched Cartoon Cloud Dies and the sweet butterflies are from the Mini Butterfly Dies. 

Of course, I had the entire card assembled and had no room for the sentiment, which I seem to do almost every time!!!  I solved this little problem by die cutting one more cloud, stamping the sentiment and gluing it directly on top of one that I had adhered already!

I felt like a few of the pieces needed some sparkle and shine, so out came the Clear Sparkle Pen and Glossy Accents!
