Christmas in July with Scrap N Stamp!!

Hello and welcome to the Scrap N Stamp Canada "Christmas is July Blog Hop"! You have arrived from the super talented Kia

The Christmas in July theme is always fun. It breaks up the spring and summer crafting nicely and lets you dig through your holiday -making stash!

I mixed and matched three different brands for my project today, something which I love to do.

I used the Christmastime die set from Tim Holtz/Sizzix. This is quite a simple die set yet is just beautiful. I chose to cut everything from white cardstock and use a variety of Distress Inks to add the colour. I then glued all the pieces together to create one solid image.

To easily create the background, I started with a piece of light blue cardstock. I simply inked around it using Broken China, then Chipped Sapphire and finally Black Soot Distress Inks. By starting off with the light blue cardstock, it cuts down on the blending time!  I then mixed a bit of white acrylic paint with water and used a paintbrush to splatter. I made sure to go over the couple and the trees to create continuity.

Now, speaking of the trees! I used the beautiful Layered Narrow Pines die set from Memory Box. This set pairs beautifully with the Christmastime die set.  I did the same technique by using Distress Inks to add colour. I used Rustic Wilderness and Peeled Paint.

I used a stitched rectangle die to trim down the background panel. I used the Stitched Hillside Borders from Lawn Fawn to create the snow bank.

I foam mounted the "snow" to allow for a couple of the trees to be tucked behind. This meant that the cute couple needed some foam adhesive as well.  This is where I realized I hadn't stamped the sentiment...do you ever do that??

Luckily, it worked out okay! I heat embossed the sentiment in white. The "Warm Winter Wishes" comes from the super sweet Stay Cozy Stamp Set from Aall & Create.

The entire panel was foam mounted onto a top-fold, A2 white card base.  To finish off, I added some white, pearlescent pearls.

And that's my finished card! I hope you like it. It was A LOT of fun to make!

Now, onto the fun stuff...

For a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the Scrap N Stamp online shop, all you have to do is leave a comment on each stop of the hop! This hop is full of gorgeous, Christmas inspiration so it should be very easy to leave a nice comment!

The winner will be announced on the SNS Blog on July 25, 2023.

Thank you so much for hopping along! Good luck!

Up next is the wonderful Mari...enjoy!

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

Hello and welcome! I thought I'd join in on a challenge today!! I rarely participate in challenges and I don't know why. They are a great way to get the creative ideas flowing. I also find that I make better use of my supplies. With prompts such as layout, theme or colour combination, it tends to make you look at your stamps, dies and inks with fresh eyes.

This is the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. The theme is "Vacation". Typically, the Monday challenge is a vintage theme. My card is definitely NOT vintage. But that's ok!

I used all older supplies, some of which are no longer available or retired...sorry! But that's the beauty of challenges...you can give your older goodies some more love!

I created a pastel, beach themed card. Everything was cut from white cardstock and then ink blended with Distress Inks. I have tons of coloured cardstock which would make this easier but I love the look of the Distress Inks!

I'm pretty happy with the way this card turned out. It's definitely got a relaxing vibe to it.

Here's a list of the stamps and dies I used. Like I mentioned before, some of these are unavailable but worth a search:)

My Favourite Things:  Beach Scene Builder
                                     Beach Bungalow and Accessories
                                     Cloud Stencil
                                     Sunny Vibes Stamp Set
The scalloped frame is the Fancy Frames from Craftin' Desert Divas (oldie but goodie)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge

Hello friends! Today I decided to enter a challenge! I find that challenges are a great way to not only fire up the crafty mojo but to also give you an opportunity to dust off some products that you may not have used in awhile!

I decided to enter the current Wednesday Challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp Blog. It combines two of my favourite things:  Tim Holtz and tags!!

I used the largest of the Tim Holtz Framelits Tags. To create the background, I used a variety of acrylic paints and my fingers to apply. This is my favourite way to get a fun background. I then used a whole bunch of stencils to create layers and patterns.

Next, I dug through my stash and found the Arched Leaf and Flower Blooms die set from Simon. To go along with these flowers and leaves, I used the TH Feathered Friends dies. After everything was cut out, I used Gina K Designs inks to add colour.

I played around a little with the arrangement and used a combination of liquid glue and foam adhesive to adhere everything.

The sentiment comes from an older TH die set called Pondering Words.

This tag fits onto a card base measuring 6.25 X 3.5.

Thanks for dropping by! See you soon!

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge....Diecutting!!

Well, hello there!! I'm really not sure how many subscribers I have left here and that's understandable and okay.  I've been so very absent here. I apologize and will try harder.  I don't have any other excuse except I'm super lazy.  I actually love sitting down and writing blog posts but when you don't actually HAVE to do it (ie. design teams), it just seems easy to ignore/forget about it! Anyway.....

I'm entering the current Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge which is all about die cutting!! If you know me or follow me on Instagram, you'll know that die cutting is my all time favourite thing to do so I just had to enter this one!

I love making cards but I've discovered that I can take all the same supplies and techniques and turn paper into home decor pieces! I actually have a bunch of framed "paper pieces" throughout my craft room!

I've used the Lovely Envelope Die Set from Altenew to create this floral filled envelope. I used water colour paper and used Distress Oxide Inks along with the "smooshing" technique. For the sentiment, I used the You Matter Die from Simon.

Once all the pieces were put together, I adhered everything onto a 5X7 piece of ivory cardstock embossed with the Geo Screen Embossing Folder from Spellbinders.

This is just an inexpensive frame. The panel is quite dimensional so I had to really push it in there but it worked!!

I love the way it looked and it is on my wall now!

I do apologize for the photos. It was a little late and I was having a bit of trouble not catching the glare of the photo frame.

Thanks so much for dropping by. I hope you found a little inspiration :)

Miss You Mandala Card with Create A Smile Stamps!

Hello and happy Wednesday! I'm back to share a card made with stamps and dies from Create a Smile Stamps.

This card is not mass producible but was a lot of fun to make!  I started by doing some no-line colouring with my Lyra Coloured Pencils. I used the Mesmerizing Mandalas Stamp Set along with the No Line ink pad from The Stamp Market.

I used a few pinks shades, a purple and a turquoise to colour this image. It's actually not as tedious as it may look and didn't take that long.  When the colouring was done, I fussy cut around the mandala then trimmed in half.

I cut a panel of white cardstock with the second largest of the Scalloped Rectangles then used the same die to cut the bottom of each half of the mandala. This added the scalloped edge so it would fit nicely on the panel!

The sentiment comes from the new Miss You Mini Stamp Set and was stamped in a grey ink. I used foam tape to adhere the mandala pieces to the top and bottom of the scalloped panel.

The card base measures 3.5 X 5.25 inches. I lightly inked around the edges using Spun Sugar Distress Ink to take away some of the brightness. I used tape adhesive to adhere the panel to the card base.

I played around with some embellishments but couldn't really come up with good placement so I used my white gel pen to add some details instead!

Thanks for dropping in! See you soon!

Sending Smiles with Create A Smile Stamps!

Hello!! Today I'm sharing a card using some brand new products from Create A Smile Stamps!  The May release is now available for purchase.

I used the new Plant A Tree Stamp Set along with the Basic Ovals Stencil. The stamp set is on the smaller scale which means the price is fantastic. But it is also packed with a ton of images! The stencil is so versatile. It has four different sizes of ovals and it also comes with the co-ordinating masks!

I started by using the largest oval on the stencil and ink blended some blue and a little brown at the bottom. I stamped each image (they are all separate) directly onto the ink blended background. I used Gina K Inks for this as they work well with alcohol markers.  I added very simple shading to images which really brought them to life!

I used the second largest of the Scalloped Rectangles Dies to trim down the piece of cardstock I was working on. To create the embossed lines perfectly around the oval, I held the panel up to the light and on the back side, lightly adhered the mask portion of the stencil. You can see through the cardstock just enough for placement. I then traced around the mask with a pencil.

On my scoring board, on the BACK of the panel, I added the scoring lines every 1/8th of an inch, stopping when I got to the traced line.

I added some white gel pen details to the images as well as 3 tiny, die cut hearts.  The sentiment comes from the new From Afar Mini Stamp Set and was stamped onto one of the Useful Banner Dies.

Both the sentiment strip and the panel were foam mounted to a light grey card base which measures 5.25 X 3.25 inches.

I hope you enjoyed todays card and will check out the new CAS release!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today.

My Creative Time 95th Edition Sneak Day #3!

Are you ready for another awesome sneak peek from the upcoming My Creative Time release?!

We have another fun die to show you.  I happen to love this one because of its versatility!Bow dies are always fun to have in our stashes.  This particular one lies flat on your projects for easy mailing!  This die is called the Medium Holiday Bow Die.

I decided to make dimensional hanging ornaments!  These will be perfect for Christmas decorations but changing up the colours of paper, they can be used for any season!

I cut the pieces of the bow out twice. To add the dimension, I die cut the base of the bow out of craft foam.  I glued the paper die cuts onto the front and the back to the craft foam. I then added the ribbon before attaching the small, white square die cut.

I used a few of the small elements from the Holiday Envelope Die (yesterday's sneak peek!) and cut them from gold glitter paper!  I love the way these turned out and almost can't wait to set up the Christmas tree!  I plan to make a whole lot more of these!!

This release will also include a smaller version of this die called the Small Holiday Bow Die.  And stayed tuned because we have a special die and announcement coming up this Friday!!

Colours of Summer Challenge with Create A Smile Stamps!

Welcome to another fab challenge hosted by Create A Smile Stamps! This is going to be fun and I think fairly easy!  The theme this time around is "Colours of Summer".

When I think about summertime colours, I instantly gravitate towards sherberty shades. I chose pink, yellow and aqua.

I used the hot air balloon and cloud images from the Scene Builders Stamp Set. I used my Copic markers for the colouring.  I cut down a white panel with the second largest die from the Scalloped Rectangles Dies.  But before adding my balloons I incorporated a light shade of purple to the background, Shaded Lilac Distress Ink to be exact.

To create the cloudy background, I used the Cloud Stencil from MFT stamps.

The "you" word die is from the You Twice Cool Cuts set which works perfectly with the All About You Stamp Set.  I also added the Shaded Lilac Ink to the die cut as well.  I adhered the stencilled panel onto a white card base, adhered the balloons with foam adhesive and cut multiple layers of the "you" die to create dimension.

I added a few iridescent sequins, white gel pen details and Nuvo Crystal glaze to a few areas.  And that completed this card!

I hope you enjoyed and will play along with us! There's a €25 gift certificate to the Create A Smile Stamps Store!!

Please link up your creation to the Create A Smile Stamps Challenge Blog where you will also find all the details about the challenge!

I cannot wait to see what you create!

I Need a Favour with My Creative Time

Hello and welcome back! Today is the day where we get to focus on some of the amazing dies Emma has created to help make party favours!

I used the recently released Stitched Mini Bag Die.  This comes together quickly but you can take some extra time to decorate it, depending on how many of these little guys you have to make!

I used the Baby Cake Die to decorate the front of this treat bag.  Along with a "thanks" sentiment stamped onto one of the Strip Sentiment Dies, I thought this would make a great "thank you for coming to my birthday party" favour!

Thank you for stopping by today!!  Have a great day!

MCT 91st Release Blog Hop and Sale!

I hope you've enjoyed all the lovely sneak peeks this week!  It's definately been a party this week but it's not over yet!  You'll find the complete blog hop lineup at the end of this post along with details on the Freebie Die and Giveaway!!

For my project today, I've created a wedding card using the new Cake Lollipop Holder and Add-Ons. I almost always do this with these lolli die sets, just because they're so versatile and because I never have lollipops on hand :)

This is a bright and sparkly card made with glitter and foil paper along with some silver heat embossing!  And not a colour combo that I'd ever think I'd use!

That cake is so adorable and so fun to decorate! The sentiment comes from the recently released Best Day Ever Stamp and Die Set.  I love the font on this set and that the dies cut out each word perfectly!
To add a little extra something to the cake, I used a small flower and some leaves from the Stitched Pretty Flowers and Leaves Die Set.
