Springy Creations

I love flowers.  They're beautiful.  They smell nice.  They will brighten anyone's day!
But, I know absolutely nothing about them.  I certainly cannot grow them.

So, to get my flower fix, I buy floral stamp sets!!  You can't kill those!!

Here's a few cards I've made in the past few days using various floral stamp sets.

This first one uses all www.simonsaysstamp.com products including the Autumn Blessings stamp set.  I entered this card in their Flickr Challenge #17.  The challenge included using these colors:

The next card also uses Simon Says Stamp products.  I used the Scribble Flowers stamp set.  Stamped the images on watercolour paper, then masked them off.  It is quite hard to tell in the photo but I stamped a background stamp from Impression Obsession called Beauty Text over the masked flowers.  I then watercolored the flowers using an inexpensive watercolour marker set from Michaels.  My water brush has some residue glitter in it (from what, I have no idea!)  The "you" die cut is from www.papertreyink.com, and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp, sentiment of You set.

And finally, this last card uses the Blossoming Buds stamp set from www.papersmoochesstamps.com.   I just love this set!!  Tried out some spotlight stamping, such a great technique!!  Very simple black and white card with just that little pop of color!!

Spring has finally sprung here in Canada (so, far. Who knows, we may get snow next week!)
Hope you enjoyed my "flower garden" :)

See you soon!!

Worst. Blogger. Ever.

Okay, so I have been a little ill and a little busy over the past few weeks.  Also, I have been struggling  with setting up my blog...Up until now I was using my iPad  and it was frustrating!  Literally 3/4 of the reason I haven't been posting anything. But no more excuses...

I bought myself a Valentines, Easter, Birthday, Anniversary and Christmas gift (for the next 3 years:)..

Yes, I nearly fainted as the total was rang up. Yes, I nearly turned the car around to return it.  And yes, it is NOTHING like an iPad. Which I was kind of expecting.
It is definitely going to take some time to learn!!  But I'm up for the challenge because as I'm sitting here typing this, I feel good. I feel like I will open this thing up everyday and write!! And that is what I have been wanting to feel since I decided to start this blog!!!

Anyway, I've added my Pinterest link and also my Instagram (which I just started so not much there), so check them out if you would like!!

I will be back tomorrow, I PROMISE, to show you a few cards I've been working on!!

Thanks and see you tomorrow!!!

I "Heart" Weekends

Happy Saturday!!  Let me begin by saying that I love weekends (I know, who doesn't). I work in the dental field, which means I spend my days catering to unhappy people, because let's face it, who's happy going to the dentist?! And I will admit, it doesn't make me happy either:).  So, when Friday rolls around, I get super excited...and relaxed! I never do any crafting during the week so I spend HOURS in my craft room on the weekends..my happy place.
I usually scan Pinterest and various blogs for some inspiration, make my coffee and dive in! (Some days I remain in my pjs, just sayin').  So here's a few cards I made, so far, this weekend.

Here's one I'm entering in the Color and Sketch Challenge #11 over at www.yournextstamp.com. You can do the sketch, the Color or combine both. I went with the sketch.

I chose circles and hearts as my shapes of choice(the sketch had stars). The circles are from MFT Stitched Circles and the hearts are from Your Next Stamp Thanks a Latte die set. The sentiment on the middle circle is from Kup Toppers, also from YourNextStamp. I added clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to the hearts. The banners are cut with Paper Smooches Flag Tags dies out of scrap papers. The background paper is from My Minds Eye. Finished off with some clear bubble-type accents from Robins Nest(I think).

Apart from that card, I've been kind of loving the Aqua, pink, yellow and grey Color combo. As, you'll see in these two card...

The first one's focal point is the "Big Hello" die from www.simonsaysstamp.com. I used the stitched journaling card from Lawn Fawn, the circle cover plate from Papertrey Ink, and that AWESOME stitched Daisy?!  Well, that's from www.my-creative-time.com! I stumbled upon this website by accident one day, what a lucky accident! I love her stuff(Emma is her name). She has the most adorable stitched dies!
The second card also features that same Daisy die as well as the sentiment from MyCreativeTime. I used the Triangle border die from SimonSaysStamp to add a little something extra. Both cards were finished off using some random Colored pearls.

I hope you enjoyed, thanks for visiting and have a Happy Easter!!

Paper Smooches Challenge...Very First Entry!

Hi All!

I don't know if I'm the only one (and i'm hoping i'm not), but I have a severe addiction to online shopping.  Not clothes, not shoes, but card making supplies.  I tell myself every week that I have enough, more than I'll ever use in fact. But it's just SO HARD!! These darn stamp companies keep coming out with fabulous new stamps and dies and inks and papers!!! What's an addict to do!!??!
So, I did show a little restraint this weekend and only ordered one gigantic roll of 3M foam tape from Amazon, pretty excited about that.
I'm going to, no, I HAVE to put myself on a strict craft budget....starting soon...😀.
Anyway, onto the whole point of this post. To keep myself offline as much as possible, I spent some time in the craft room.
This card I'm going to enter in the papersmoochesstamps.com Anything Goes (wk5) Challenge.

I used the Party Pals stamp with the Happy Birthday from the Sentiment Sampler. I paper pieced the whole image on top of the stitched frame die. Layered over some random pink paper. Finished with some black pearls and Glossy Accents over the balloon.

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great day!

It's Been Awhile!

I know its been a little while so I thought it was time to share a couple of cards I've made.  I haven't entered any challenges as of late but intend to soon...maybe this weekend??
As you know I'm a big fan of www.yournextstamp.com products, so this first card is using the Cactus and Flower Fun stamp set and dies.

The "hello" sentiment is from www.simonsaystamp.com Sending Happy Thoughts stamp set.

My next card is using the Paper Smooches Calico stamp set as the focal point. Scalloped outer die is from Simon Says Stamp Frames die set. Stitched Rectangles are from Lawn Fawn.

The sentiment is also from Simon Says Stamp, sentiments of Happy.

My last card features a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs wich I believe is called Gifts. It's hard to tell but I placed the die on a watercolored piece of paper. Used a Stitched Circle die from SSS to create the window. The flowers are from the Paper Smooches Flowers dies cut from various scraps of Cardstock. The "Happy Birthday" sentiment comes from Lawn Fawn's Bake Me a Cake stamp set which is silver heat embossed on another stitched circle die.

Hope you enjoyed!

First Post!!!

So here it goes...my first post! This is a little intimidating to be honest. I'm scared no one will read this or no one will care! I'm just a very amateur crafter and DIY'er. I'm addicted to Pinterest and love finding projects to recreate. I consider myself crafty but not overly creative. My passion and favorite thing to do is make cards. I have a stash of cards for every possible occasion, more than I will ever use, am I the only one?
So with my blog, I will post some projects. Just for fun stuff. A challenge entry here and there.
Please forgive any silly mistakes I may make(not really computer saavy😊.

Here we go...these two cards I entered in the YourNextStamp.com Sketch and Color Challenge #9.

This card was made using the Love and Smiles stamp set with coordinating dies, the open scallop die set(which I am obsessed with at the moment), sentiment is from the Bitty Bugs stamp set, and Your Next Stamp Gumdrops. Other products used include Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangles and a banner from My Favorite Things.

My second entry uses, again, the Bitty Bugs set, scallop dies and the Mason Jars stamp set. I paper pieced the lid of the jar, added vellum to the jar and wings of the butterfly.

So, there it is. My first post. Hope you enjoyed!

Until next time...
