Stamp a Background Challenge--Create A Smile Stamps!

Hi friends!! Welcome to another challenge for Create A Smile Stamps!!  It's another fun one and one of my favourite things to do...stamp a background!!
I chose to use the Funky Feathers Stamp Set for my card today.  This was one of the first CAS sets I bought and love it till this day!!  To start, I cut down some white cardstock to 4.25 X 4.25 inches.  I took a ruler and drew a line corner to corner to find the centre.

I chose one of the stamps and placed it in one of the sections.  I stamped then rotated the cardstock 180 degrees so I got the identical placement on the opposite side.  You do have to remove and place the stamp for the opposite sides.

I flipped the stamp in the opposite direction and lined it up directly over the pencil line in between the stamped feathers. After picking the stamp up with the Misti door, I erased all the pencil lines and continued stamping in this manner.

This is what I ended up with.  I did stamp the feathers in the corners with an acrylic block to finish the pattern.  I should mention that the stamping was done on Bristol Smooth paper with Versaclair Ink (which is waterproof when dry).

I coloured the background with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens for a light watercolour look.  I stamped one of the cute seagulls from the Gull Gang set, also on Bristol and added a bit of grey ink to create some shadows and orange to the feet and beak.

I used foam tape to mount him to a zig zag circle die cut from vellum.  I also used foam tape to adhere the circle to create quite a bit of dimension. I wanted the seagull to stand out from the busy background.

I white heat embossed the sentiments onto black cardstock and trimmed each word out separately. And of course, used foam tape to adhere!  To add a little bit more colour, I die cut a few hearts and used a pink Tombow marker to add some colour.

I added the panel to a 4.25 X 4.25 inch card base.  I added the hearts with foam tape and also decided to add some clear droplets.  A bit of sparkle to the hearts and some Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the feet and beak of the gull, finish this card!!

This would make a great Valentine but I think could be given any time of year!!

I hope you'll play along with us!!  I love seeing all the great entries!!

You can find all the details HERE. And remember your playing for a €25 gift certificate to the Create A Smile Stamp Store!!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #205!!

It's that special Friday when a new Challenge starts for CAS-ual Fridays!!  I love being a part of this team as it challenges me as well, which we all need sometimes!!  For the next two weeks, it's all about.....

Pattern stamping! This is very popular right now. And a whole lotta fun!  Here's what I came up with...

I actually made this for my husband for our anniversary!! I thought by leaving the majority of the card in black and white it would have a masculine feel. Even though there are tons of flowers on it!!  I haven't given it to him yet so I'm not sure how well it will go over, hahaha!

That gorgeous floral "love" comes from the Flower Power Stamp set which is one of the best stamp sets ever!!

The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Saying Set and was stamped on a white cardstock strip and matted with black to make it stand out a bit better from the background. It may be hard to tell, but I added a drop shadow to the background stamping to help it pop off the white cardstock a bit.  Unfortunately, I ran out of my C1 Copic and had to use C3 which I had a hard time blending out.

For a little pop of colour, I added red to all the hearts. As well as Glossy Accents :)

Remember to visit the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog to link your creations up!! You're playing to win a $25 gift certificate to the CAS-fridays shop BUT if you are the winner and you've used CAS-fridays products, that gift certificate doubles to $50!!!!

Thank you so much for visiting today!! Good luck and have fun with this challenge!!
