My Creative Time Birthday Palooza!!

Good morning, friends!  It's all about birthdays at My Creative Time!!  I love making birthday cards! They are always fun because it's a celebration and everyone loves to get birthday cards, am I right??

My card features the super cute and super creative Party Hat Dies.  This set is so unique. There are endless possibilities for creating your own fun party hats...in two sizes, no less.  Not only that, because these are simple triangles, you can create awesome geometric patterns on your projects! Hmmm, the creative juices just got flowing :).

Anyway, onto my card.  I wanted to create my own patterned paper to cut the small hat from so I used the polka dot sunray stamp from the Build a Sunray Stamp and Die set.  I chose 3 happy ink colours (from Simon Says Stamp) and simply rotated the stamp 90 degrees back and forth to get this:

I die cut the small hat as well as the pom-poms. I used the same green and pink colours to give the pom-poms some colour.

You can see a little of the hat, it turned out so cute!!  Now, I must admit that I got a little carried away with the die cutting.  My original plan was just to place this little hat onto a white panel then onto a white cardbase.  But I thought that to be a little plain, cute yes, but just a little boring.  So, I die cut about four more of the hats and small pom-poms out of white cardstock and adhered them to a white card panel.  I then used the largest of the More Stitched Rectangle dies and ran that through my Big Shot.

This gave the background a lot of interest and some dimension.  As you can see, I added a few circles (also sponged in the same colours) to add a little bit of colour!

All that was left to do was put everything together!  I used fun foam to mount my "feature hat" and stamped a sentiment that comes from the To A Cute Little Chickie Stamp and Die Set.  I also mounted this panel onto a piece of pink lightweight cardstock to separate it a little from the cardbase.

And of course a little bit of glitter on those dots using Nuvo Glitter Drops!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today! I appreciate you all!!!

  4. That's a genius card!!! You'd think it would look too fussy, but because the background is so muted and white, it doesn't overwhelm. I think I totally dismiss dies and what you can do with them! Love this! xx
