CAS Paper Smooches Card!

Hi guys!  I wanted to share a quick card with you today and IT'S NOT a Christmas card!  While I love making Christmas cards, I needed a little break from the snowmen and wintry scenes.

I also wanted to create one more entry into the Paper Smooches November Challenge. They are looking for a few designers for their new challenge team and I would just LOVE to be a part of that!!

I combined an older and newer stamp set on my card today.  The first set is Bee Mine and was one of the first PS sets I bought.  And I specifically bought it for the large bee image!

After colouring and die cutting that cutie, I did the same with the clouds from the Sunnyville Stamp Set.  To create my little scene, I used a stitched square die and a grassy border die. I used It's A Boy and Lime Rickey inks from Catherine Pooler to add the colour.

I popped the square panel onto a 3.5 X 5 inch notecard. I love making this size of card when you have a small scene. I really wanted that bee to pop off the card so I used a double layer of foam adhesive.  Of course, no card of mine is complete without some shimmer and shine! I added some sparkly dots on the wings and Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the eyes as well as the wings.

The sentiment comes from the Kindess Sampler Set which is a must have set for your stash!!

I hope you enjoyed the CAS card! Thank you for stopping by!

See you soon,

Laurie

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #207

Welcome back!! It's time for another challenge on the CAS-Fridays Challenge Blog!!  The theme for the next two weeks is...

Mint and Neutral!!  Oh, what fun!  I love the colour mint, every shade of it, so this was an easy and fun challenge for me!

I went for a very clean and simple look and choose Ivory as my neutral colour.  I created a dimensional background by cutting the gorgeous Casual Trees Fri-Dies multiple times out of ivory cardstock and adhering them directly to a 4 bar ivory card base (3.5 X 5 inch). This gives a very elegant look.

I die cut the Friend Fri-Dies from white cardstock and used Catherine Pooler inks in the colours, Mint To Be and Seafoam.  These inks are awesome and I highly recommend trying them!! I added Versamark Ink over the die cut and heat embossed it in clear. I did this twice to give a nice, raised, shiny look!

I adhered the word die onto a scalloped oval die from MFT to make it pop a little from the background. The tiny hearts come from the Fun-fetti Fri-Dies and were treated the same as the friend die.

I usually leave the inside of my cards blank. Especially if it's a generic friendship card.  You can customize it later for any occasion!!

Link up your project on the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog. Ten (10) winning entries will be featured on the blog the Thursday before a new challenge starts. The overall winner will receive a $25 gift certificate for the CAS-Fridays shop! But if that winner featured CAS-Fridays products, the prize amount will double!! Remember, you are not required to use CAS-Friday products :)

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you'll join the challenge! Have fun creating and good luck!

Anything Goes with My Creative Time

Welcome back!! It's Anything Goes for My Creative Time but I chose to make a card today!!  I used stamps and dies that were just released because I love them so much!!

I also got my hands on a few of the new Distress Oxide Inks so I was dying to get a little inky!!  To switch things up a little, I decided to make a 4 bar card. This measure 3.75 X 5 inches. I love this size of card as it's a little easier to decorate!

I cut a circle using a die from the Bunch of Fun Circles Dies to create a little tropical scene.  I used Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry and Dusty Concord Distress Oxide Inks for the sky and Gathered Twigs for the "beach".

To create a bit more interest, I created a mask using one of the dies from the More Stitched Edges Die Set. This resembles clouds. I lightly blended the same ink colours over the background. When that was done, it was time to work on some greenery.

I used the awesome, new Summer Vibes Stamp and Die Set. I love the extra leaf dies that come in this set. I used Crushed Olive, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Inks to blend on some colour!!

I knew this was going to be a clean and simple card but I had an embossing folder that would tie into my design perfectly!  I used it on a white panel that was cut slightly smaller than my card base.

I adhered the leaves on the outer edges of the ink blended circle and snipped off any excess. Then stamped the sentiment directly on the circle. The sentiment is also from the Summer Vibes Set.

I love how the bright colours pop off the white base!!

There is also a couple of tiny heart dies in the Summer Vibes set so I used one of those as well :)

I seriously think this is a must have stamp and die set!!  Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Until next time...stay crafty!!
