5 Days of Christmas with My Creative Time...Day Five!!

Hello & welcome to our "5" Days of Christmas"! This week we will be sharing w/you LOTS of last minute Christmas ideas, such as cards, tags, treat holders, gift card holders & what ever else comes to mind that will help YOU get your creative juices flowing for the holiday! There will be a giveaway each day & a winner will be announced each day! Example, winner of Monday will be announced on Tuesday, winner of Tuesday will be announced on Wednesday.....and so on! All you have to do is leave your comments on each stop for a chance to win a $15 Gift Card to the My Creative Time store!
ALSO, in addition to the $15 Gift Card that will be given away each day, Emma has a special prize that she will be giving away on Friday! It’s a few of her favorite things from 2018! I hope we ALL inspire you this week!
Today, we are going to surprise you with different ideas!!  I made for you today, three paper ornaments!  I actually love making ornaments for my tree.  While I love seeing big, beautiful trees with all the large, sparkly ornaments, I cannot justify spending a lot of money on Christmas ornaments for these reasons: 1. I am a klutz. 2. They are glass. 3. They will break. 4. I have two cats that like to bat things around.

Every year, I try to make a few paper ornaments for my tree. These are fun, can be as fancy as you want, don't break and are easy to store!!

I made these using the Bunch of Stitched Doily Dies for the base of the ornament. Then used various stamps and dies to decorate them.

I used the Number Fun Dies & Add Ons Set for the "25", the Hot Chocolate Season Stamp and Die set for the mugs and candy canes as well as the More Stitched Edges Dies to create hills and ledges!  The Doily dies are perfect for ornaments as they provide a place to loop the twine!  I do back each ornament with a second die cut for stability.

What's nice about a project like this is that you don't have to worry about filling up an entire card front!  It's a small area so you can use your smaller stamps and dies, as well!!  Also, a lot of the fun is in adding the details like sequins, glitter and shine.

I really hope you are inspired to try making some paper ornaments!!  Now onto the super fun giveaway for today!!!

***GIVEAWAY*** Don’t forget to leave your comments on all of our blogs for a chance to win a $15 gift card to the My Creative Time store AND for a chance to win this prize pkg from Emma! These are a few of her favorite things from 2018!

GOOD LUCK, FRIENDS!!

Thank you so much for hanging out with us this week!  I hope you enjoyed our posts and found some Holiday Inspiration!!

5 Day of Christmas with My Creative Time...Day Four!!

Hello & welcome to our Fourth Day of the "5 Days of Christmas"for My Creative Time!! This week we will be sharing w/you LOTS of last minute Christmas ideas, such as cards, tags, treat holders, gift card holders & what ever else comes to mind that will help YOU get your juices flowing for the holiday!
We are sharing Gift Card Holders with you today!!  Gift cards are a super popular gift but pretty boring to open!  Emma has so many fabulous gift card holder dies in the shop that will make giving gift cards fun!!

I chose to use the Scalloped Stitched Envelope Die for my project today. Technically, not a gift card holder die but it works fantastic!!

I die cut this large die from some ivory cardstock and stamped a random pattern of snowflakes, hearts and dots in shades of aqua, pink and grey.  Love me some non-traditional Christmas colours!

To decorate the front of my envelope, I used the cute Santa image from the Santa Stamps Stamp and Die Set (say that 10 times quick!). The "to and from" come from this set as well which I placed on a stitched panel and a scalloped panel which are both from the Scalloped Stitched Rectangular Dies.

The best part about this envelope is the back of it!!  It is SO pretty!!

The set comes with this circle die to create "buttons" to wrap twine around.  I'm guessing you would normally use brads to secure these but I don't have such a thing so a few layered die cuts did the trick!  And look at those scallops and stitching!!!

And as you can see, a gift card fits in perfectly, with room to spare!!

I LOVE how this came together!!  And I'm in love with this die!!

I hope you were inspired enough to come back tomorrow!!

5 Days of Christmas with My Creative Time..Day Three!!

Hello & welcome to our Third Day of the "5 Days of Christmas"for My Creative Time!! This week we will be sharing w/you LOTS of last minute Christmas ideas, such as cards, tags, treat holders, gift card holders & what ever else comes to mind that will help YOU get your juices flowing for the holiday! There will be a giveaway each day & a winner will be announced each day! Example, winner of Monday will be announced on Tuesday, winner of Tuesday will be announced on Wednesday.....and so on! ALSO, in addition to the $15 Gift Card that will be given away each day, Emma has a special prize that she will be giving away on Friday! It’s a few of her favorite things from 2018! I hope we ALL inspire  you this week!
Today, we are featuring quick and easy cards! Quick and easy doesn't have to mean plain or boring. Sometimes the quickest creations can turn out to be one of your best!! I decided to do a watercolour background along with a custom sentiment using alphabet dies.

This card measures approximately 5 X 3.5 inches. Only because that was the size of my watercolour paper! I quickly laid down some watercolour paint in blues and greens. As that was drying, I die cut all the letters I needed to spell "Fa la la" out of white cardstock as well as white craft foam. I used both the Lowercase Fun Dies and Upper Case Fun Dies. l used liquid glue to adhere them together. After the paint was dry, I decided to add some gold splatters using gold Perfect Pearls mixed with a bit of water.

To bring in more of the gold, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Christmas Wishes Stamp Set and fussy cut around it. The watercolour panel was glued directly to the card base. The letters were adhered with liquid glue while the fussy cut sentiment was popped up on a small piece of craft foam...I wanted to keep the heights even!

The card was truly easy and quick to make, not to mention FUN!! I hope you found a little inspiration here today!!

Today, we will be showcasing some quick and easy treat holders!! As you know, Emma carries a lot of cute and unique treat holder dies in her shop. I chose to use the Mini Gift Box Die. If you're looking for quick and easy, this one is it!! With only one pass through your die cutting machine, and technically no adhesive required, this come together fast!!

I kept these very simply, both were cut from plain, white cardstock. I die cut the treat box from patterned paper as well, and adhered it over one of the boxes.

To jazz things up a bit, I used the Number Fun Dies and Add Ons Set to die cut the number 25.  After the number were adhered to the boxes, I decided it needed a heart as well which comes from the Hot Chocolate Season Stamp and Die set and is the perfect sized heart for almost anything!!

I love the cute boxes this die creates! I can actually imagine them hanging from a tree as well!

Thank you for visiting and remember...

My Creative Time's 5 Days of Christmas...Day One!!

Hello & welcome to our "5 Days of Christmas"! This week we will be sharing with you LOTS of last minute Christmas ideas, such as cards, tags, treat holders, gift card holders & what ever else comes to mind that will help YOU get your creative juices flowing for the holidays!
There will be a giveaway each day & a winner will be announced each day! Example, winner of Monday will be announced on Tuesday, winner of Tuesday will be announced on Wednesday.....and so on! All you have to do is leave your comments on each of the design teams blog for a chance to win a $15 Gift Card  to the My Creative Time store!

Today is our 1st day of our 5 Days of Christmas! We all will be showcasing some quick & EASY tags!
Tag are one of my favourite things to make! And I had a lot of fun with this one!!

I used the scalloped tag from the Tag Dies Set to create this card. I die cut 2 and glued them together to give stability but also so the lovely stitching detail would be on both sides. I went for a vintage look by adding some burlap cardstock. I've had this stuff for years and just rediscovered it! I die cut the largest star from the 3 Star Stitched Die Set (which I've been using a lot lately) from the burlap as well as partially cut the tag die to have a bit of a topper on the tag.

For a bit of shine, I die cut the medium star from some gold cardstock and layered the two together. To bring the festive element in, I die cut a flower and leaves from the Stitched Pretty Flower and Leaves Dies and used Distress Inks to add colour.

The sentiment comes from the recently released Just A Little Something Stamp and Die Set. I used the same Distress Ink (Barn Door) to stamp it. Because Distress Ink doesn't stamp all that well, I used my Mini Misti so I could do multiple impressions. I also stamped the "to" and "from" on the reverse side of the tag.

Although, this wasn't super quick to make, it came together easily! And would look great on any gift!

My Creative Time Black Friday Sale & Blog Hop!!

Today is the day we've all been waiting for, isn't it?!  Even though Black Friday is an American thing, us Canadians have this day marked on our calendars as well!!

While you are all stuffed with turkey leftovers, it’s time to shop! Besides our AWESOME sale, we are showcasing a couple of brand new dies. They are “Sleigh Die” along with the “Sleigh Bed”.

I decided to make a pink sleigh with gold foil accents (which are hard to photograph).  You can see how large this die is!!  To create the snowbanks I used a couple dies from the More Stitched Edges Die Set. The background was created with a stencil and Distress Ink.

I absolutely LOVE the bow that is included in this set!  For an added touch of green, I used the Stitched Leaves Die Set.

The sentiment comes from the recently released Christmas Wishes sentiment stamp set.

Now, when you add the Sleigh Die with the Sleigh Bed die, you get an incredible 3-D project perfect for giving treats, table decor or even hanging from the tree!! I quickly put this together to show you how it looks!

Isn't this awesome and so much fun?! Just think of the things you could use these dies for! I decorated my sleigh by making a flower with the Flower Petal Dies and the Stitched Leaves dies but you could use almost anything!

Challenge #213 for Cas-ual Fridays!!

Hello and welcome to another challenge for Cas-ual Fridays Stamps!!  This challenge asks that you use shades of gold on your project!

With the holidays fast approaching, gold is always a favourite colour to create with!  I kept my card fairly clean and simple, using only one stamp set.

I had some gold, shimmery paint in my stash that I have never used so this was the perfect opportunity. To create the striped background, I painted all over a piece of cardstock and trimmed strips from it.  I didn't measure or keep the strips even in size.  I also went for a random look when adhering the strips to the panel.

The snowflakes and sentiment are from the Snowy Sayings stamp set.  I wanted to incorporate a touch of black into this card, so I used Versafine Onxy Black ink for the sentiment.  The snowflakes were heat embossed with Metallic Copper Embossing powder from WOW!.  This is actually my favourite colour of embossing powder at the moment!

I fussy cut each snowflake and also directly stamped and embossed a few small flakes onto the card front. The snowflakes were adhered using foam adhesive.

And that's my take on the "Shades of Gold" Challenge!!  Now here's how to enter and what you're playing for:

What are your playing for? 10 winning entries will be highlighted on this blog each Thursday before a new challenge is set to go live the next day.  In addition, Michele has generously offered up a $25 gift certificate to the overall winner at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. And if that weren't enough, if the chosen winner has used CAS-ual Fridays stamps and/or dies as the main focus in the card, that gift certificate will increase to $50.

Please link up your creation to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog!! Have fun and I cannot wait to see what you create!!

"Movember" Blog Hop with Scrap N' Stamp Canada!

Hello friends and welcome to our monthly blog hop for Scrap 'N Stamp!  As many of you likely know, November has become the month where men are encouraged to grow facial hair in support of men's health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and suicide.  This month is known as "Movember". It's a great way to support and bring awareness to men's issues! So, that's what our theme is this month...moustaches or masculine cards! Stay tuned until the end of this post for information on our new Challenge, Prizes and a complete list of the hop!!

I think it's important to be supportive to men in their time of need. They often down play any aches, pains or emotions of fear and sadness (in my experience anyway). So, I made a subtle, masculine card that could be given to friend or significant other.

I started by using the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies from Hero Arts to cut 5 circles out of a white card panel. Before die cutting the circles, I made sure that my moustaches would fit inside.  I ran that white panel through my die cutting machine with a woodgrain embossing folder from Tim Holtz (it's old).

I went through my patterned paper stash and found a very manly looking print which I adhered to the back of the embossed panel.  Now let's talk about those moustaches!  They come from an adorable set of dies called Retro Masculine.  This is a fantastic set of dies that includes more than moustaches and will be a huge help when designing your masculine cards!

I chose 5 different 'staches and used Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Inks to add the colour.  I die cut each one 4 more times from scrap white cardstock and adhered them all together to give dimension.

I adhered the embossed panel onto an A2 kraft card base and added some stitching detail around the base of the card.  I should also mention that I lightly inked the edges of the white cardstock with the Vintage Photo ink as well!

I used a sentiment from the Bitty Bears stamp set from MFT and white heat embossed it onto a die cut banner strip.  I applied a heavy layer of the Walnut Stain ink over top.  And because I didn't want to add any sparkly embellishments, I added a layer of Nuvo Crystal Glaze to each of the moustaches. An that completes my Moustache Masculine Card!!

Now onto the fun stuff...

Scrap 'N Stamp Canada is giving away three (3) Retro Masculine Die Sets to three lucky commenters on the blog hop..you'll love this set!

You should have arrived the talented Miss Kendra's blog but you can find the full list here!!

I'm using the new Pretty Gift Card Holder Die for my project! This is a super sweet die that is perfect for any occasion!!  Instead of using it as intended, I actually made a mini greeting card which could also be used as a tag on gifts!

I die cut the gift card normally then trimmed a piece of white cardstock to fit on the inside. this covers the slits made for holding a gift card.

To decorate the inside, I used the tree tag from the last Flash Friday Sale stamp and die set called Just A Little Something.  I used some pretty patterned paper to decorate the front flap of the card and die cut the label to match the outer border.

The sentiment comes from the new Christmas Wishes Sentiment Set and the stars are from the  3 Star Stitched Die Set.

I hope this has given you a bit of inspiration for this new Pretty Gift Card Holder Die!!

My Creative Time 85th Edition Release Sneak Peek Day Three!!

It's the final day of sneaks for the upcoming 85th Edition Release for My Creative Time!

We are showcasing a beautiful Christmas sentiment stamp set for you today.  This set is full of beautiful sentiments perfect for all your Christmas cards!

And because they are all so beautiful, I had a hard time on choosing just one. So, I used them all!!

I arranged all the stamps on a card panel and picked them up with my Misti door.  It didn't quite cover the entire panel so after stamping the first time, I only had to rearrange a few and restamp.  Before rearranging the stamps, I stamped it once onto a separate piece of cardstock in a bright green ink and used a circle die to cut it out.

I layered the green stamped piece onto the largest Doily Die and lined it up with the black stamping.  I popped this piece up with foam adhesive.  This is a version of the spotlight stamping technique.

What a great way to use an entire stamp set and create your own patterned paper!  And isn't that font beautiful?

I hope you've enjoyed all the sneaks this week!  Remember, our blog hop is tomorrow which will be filled with inspiration using these new products!!
