96th Edition Release Sneak Day 2...My Creative Time!

It's Day Two of sneaks for the upcoming release from My Creative Time!  Are you excited??!!  Today, we are showing you TWO new dies!

You likely remember the Spooky Tree Tag Die from the August release.  Well, Emma has designed two more to add to this line!  I love these sets because it contains both the detailed frame portion as well as a backing.  These dies are super versatile. They can be used on a card or by simply punching a hole, can be used as a tag!

So, without further ado, here are the new Snowflake Tag Die and Christmas Tree Tag Die!!

I used the Snowflake Tag Die on a square card base and it looks fantastic. By punching a hole in the second die, it instantly becomes a tag!

I thought it would be fun to have a pink snowflake. Then, I couldn't help myself and created a VERY pink card!  But I just love non-traditional christmas colours!  By adding a few sequins inside the frame, it creates the illusion of a shaker card.

The sentiment comes from the Christmas Wishes Stamp Set.

The Christmas Tree Tag is extra fun because you can create a tiny little scene!  By adding a snow bank behind the tree and adding an ink blended sky, you get a cut little picture on a tag!

The garland, ornament and stars all pop out of the tree so they can be coloured and inlaid back in place! Again, I chose non tradition colours. The sentiment comes from the Dec 25th Stamp Set.

This makes a great tag but would also look great on your Christmas tree!

And that's day two!!  Tomorrow is probably my favourite day of sneak peeks so be sure to come for a visit!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Laurie

Tag It Tuesday with My Creative Time!

Hello, friends and welcome back!  It's all about tag making today using products from My Creative Time. While Emma carries a lot of tag dies, I thought I would think outside the box by creating a tag out of something that is not remotely close to a tag!!

I used the Party Hat Dies to make this tag...

This was quite easy and quick to make. I die cut two of the large hat die bases, scored one about 3/4 inch from the top and adhered the two together. This basically creates a shaped card but by adding twine to the top, it instantly becomes a tag!!  I cut the polka dot layer out of a dark blue cardstock, glued it to the base and added a ton of sparkle pen.

To adhere the twine, I cut two of the pom poms out of grey cardstock and sandwiched the cord in between.  Then glued it to the top of the hat.  Easy peasy!

The sentiment comes from the Hello Gorgeous Stamp Set and was stamped on one of the Strip Sentiment Dies.

I rarely do this but I actually stamped a greeting on the inside of this tag which says "wishing you the best". This also comes from the Hello Gorgeous Set.

I hope you enjoyed my take on Tag It Tuesday!  I encourage you to take a look through your stash of dies to see what YOU can make a tag out of!

Until next time...stay crafty!!

Today is our 1st day of our 5 Days of Christmas! We all will be showcasing some quick & EASY tags!
Tag are one of my favourite things to make! And I had a lot of fun with this one!!

I used the scalloped tag from the Tag Dies Set to create this card. I die cut 2 and glued them together to give stability but also so the lovely stitching detail would be on both sides. I went for a vintage look by adding some burlap cardstock. I've had this stuff for years and just rediscovered it! I die cut the largest star from the 3 Star Stitched Die Set (which I've been using a lot lately) from the burlap as well as partially cut the tag die to have a bit of a topper on the tag.

For a bit of shine, I die cut the medium star from some gold cardstock and layered the two together. To bring the festive element in, I die cut a flower and leaves from the Stitched Pretty Flower and Leaves Dies and used Distress Inks to add colour.

The sentiment comes from the recently released Just A Little Something Stamp and Die Set. I used the same Distress Ink (Barn Door) to stamp it. Because Distress Ink doesn't stamp all that well, I used my Mini Misti so I could do multiple impressions. I also stamped the "to" and "from" on the reverse side of the tag.

Although, this wasn't super quick to make, it came together easily! And would look great on any gift!

25 Days of Christmas Tags with Pink & Main!!

Hello, crafty friends and welcome to a special post celebrating Day 9 of Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags!! I am so excited to be a part of this and to showcase products from Pink & Main!  I encourage you to visit Tracey's blog for all the important details on how to win some amazing prizes from 26 different sponsors including Pink & Main!!

I actually don't have the Arch Tag Die Set so I thought I'd show you how I created a tag using a regular nesting die.  This is very, very easy!!  I used the 3rd smallest die from the Stitched Top Note Die Set and simply punched a hole near the top of the die. This will allow you to string ribbon or twine!

This particular die has a very elegant look to it and perfect to use as a tag.  I embellished the "tag" using the Wreath Base Die Set along with the Winter Wreath Decor Dies. For a bit of added elegance, I used some gold foil cardstock on the deer, tiny poinsettia and sprigs.

The sentiment comes from the brand new Bowtiful Stamp Set. I added some crochet ribbon that I had in my stash and that completed my tag!!

I hope you enjoyed my non-tag, tag:)

Thank you so much for stopping in today!! I appreciate your visits!

Until next time...stay crafty!!

My Creative Time 48 Hour Flash Sale!!

Hello and welcome back to another 48 Hour Flash Sale for My Creative Time!!  Today we are showing you this super cute stamp and die set called "Just A Little Something"!!  Just in time for all your holiday gift giving needs! This set is available for purchase now at the My Creative Time Shoppe!  Also, don't forget to use the code FLASH at checkout for 20% off your purchase! **Sale applies to in-stock items only**

You likely have arrived from the awesome Miss Kendra's blog but you can find the complete line up here.

I love creating my own gift tags and this set makes it super easy!!  But of course, I made a card for you today as well to show the versatility of this set :)

Let's first take a peek at the tags I made...

This set comes with 3 different shaped tag dies along with a stamp set that is full of beautifully written Christmas sentiments.  I created a shaker tag using the scalloped shaped tag (the heart comes from the Stitched Scallop Heart Die Set). The stamped snowflake in the centre is also part of this new stamp and die set!  On the second tag, I heat embossed the sentiment with Metallic Copper Embossing powder from WOW (this is currently my favourite colour!)

I added a few flowers cut from red and green cardstock using the Stitched Pretty Flowers and Leaves Die set. I heat embossed the centres of the flowers with the same embossing powder.

The stamp set comes with a "to" and a "from" which I stamped on the back of each tag.

Now onto the card and the third shaped tag die!

The Christmas tree tag has a star with a hole where you place your string or ribbon. I just snipped this portion off.  I added some green ink to the tree and the round ornaments are actually the floral centres from the Stitched Pretty Flowers and Leaves!!  I used the smallest star die from the 3 Star Stitched Die Set. The background uses the snowflake stamp that's included in this new set and I just stamped it using Versamark in for a watermark look.

Please don't hate me but I cut apart one of the sentiments from the stamp set.  This allowed me to place it horizontally across the card. I thought it would be fun to heat emboss on a strip of vellum and wrap it around the card front.  (I must apologize for the quality of my photos today.  It is dark and gloomy and no amount of editing seemed to fix this problem!!) I used Nuvo Crystal Glaze to add dimension and shine to the ornaments.

Here's a look at all that I made with this new stamp and die set. On the right hand side, you can see the original shape of the tree tag as well as the "tis the season" sentiment :)

I hope you enjoyed my projects for today! Next up on the hop is the talented Miss Ruthie!!!

GIVEAWAY!
Leave your comments for a chance to win a $25.00 Gift Card to the "My Creative Time" store! Don't forget to leave a way for us to contact you "just in case" YOU are the LUCKY winner! Good Luck!

Flower Shaped Tags!

Hello everyone and welcome back!! I'm here to start your week off with a bit of a different project for my Studio Katia.  I decided to make some shaped tags (could be used as cards too, I suppose)!  This idea came to me as I was drifting off to sleep on Saturday night...does that happen to anyone else?  Just random craft thoughts pop into your head at any given time??

I used the large flower image from the Thank You So Much stamp set. Instead of stamping the image the right way and then colouring it, I used the back side of the side first (so instead of inking the lined image side, I inked the flat, back side of the stamp).

This is Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink spritzed about 4 times with water.  After pressing the stamp onto watercolour paper, this is the result:

When you lift the Misti door, the water and ink will pool in one spot, giving you a different look every time!  I stamped 3 more flowers using Worn Lipstick, Peacock Feathers and Spiced Marmalade.  After the images were dry, I flipped the stamp right way up.  Because the first layer is the mirror image of the actual stamp, it took some time to figure out good placement.  But because the flat side of the stamp is actually larger, the lined image fit well!

I inked of the stamp with Versamark Ink and used different embossing powders on each one.

Next, I die cut each of the flowers along with 4 pieces of ivory cardstock with the co-ordinating die.  On the ivory piece, I scored about 1/2 inch from the top and applied some Scor-Tape.  This will create the back of the tag.

This is everything adhered together:

I used a regular hole punch to make holes in the top of the flowers for some ribbon to go.  For the sentiments, I used some of the fabulous word dies that are available in the shop!  I die cut the "thank you" from the Thank You So Much Dies, and both the "hello" and " lovely" come from the new You're So Ranunculus dies.  All of these were cut out with the same ivory cardstock.

I used Multi Matte Medium to adhere the die cuts onto each tag, looped some ribbon through the holes and the tags were almost done!!  For embellishments, I used some large and small clear round dots from the Mixed Pack.  And across each sentiment, I brushed some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle.

Once I stamped one, I had to keep going and make a few different ones!  These were really easy to make and I love the variation of colour you get using the wet stamp!!

Thank you so much for joining me today!  I hope you all have a fabulous week!!

See you soon!
