Tag It Tuesday with My Creative Time!

Hello, friends and welcome back!  It's all about tag making today using products from My Creative Time. While Emma carries a lot of tag dies, I thought I would think outside the box by creating a tag out of something that is not remotely close to a tag!!

I used the Party Hat Dies to make this tag...

This was quite easy and quick to make. I die cut two of the large hat die bases, scored one about 3/4 inch from the top and adhered the two together. This basically creates a shaped card but by adding twine to the top, it instantly becomes a tag!!  I cut the polka dot layer out of a dark blue cardstock, glued it to the base and added a ton of sparkle pen.

To adhere the twine, I cut two of the pom poms out of grey cardstock and sandwiched the cord in between.  Then glued it to the top of the hat.  Easy peasy!

The sentiment comes from the Hello Gorgeous Stamp Set and was stamped on one of the Strip Sentiment Dies.

I rarely do this but I actually stamped a greeting on the inside of this tag which says "wishing you the best". This also comes from the Hello Gorgeous Set.

Tag It Tuesday with My Creative Time!

Hello friends and welcome to another "Tag It Tuesday" featuring My Creative Time.  I love making and decorating tags.  They're typically a smaller size so they are much easier to decorate.

I used the Chunky Stitched Tag Dies, which is one of my favourite sets and is back in stock!!  While I did make a tag, I used it as a focal point on a card.

I used Strathmore Mixed  Media paper for my project today.  I love this paper because it's bright white, smooth and can handle water.  I die cut a 4 X 4 inches panel and did a simple watercolour wash using Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Ink.

I embossed the tag die with an embossing folder that has tiny flowers on it.  I thought it would be fun to add a bit of colour to each embossed portion.  I used the same purple ink and added some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink.  I am definitely going to try this with other embossing folders!!!

I added the tag onto the watercolored panel with foam tape. I used the Big Hello Die for the sentiment which is just a beautiful die!  The small "friend" comes from the Fun Notes Stamp and Die Set.  

It needed a bit more of the Peacock Feathers Ink so I die cut a small butterfly with a die from the Pretty Butterflies and Dragonfly Die Set and loosely watercolored it.

I added the focal panel to a 4.25 X 4.25 inch grey card base and also a bit of sparkle to the large "hello". 

There are many ways to use tags or tag die and this is just one of the way!!  I think this tag would be beautiful on its own.

Tag It Tuesday with My Creative Time

Welcome back! So happy you're here!  I love Tag It Tuesday because tag dies are so versatile!  You can use it as intended, as a tag, you can place the tag onto a card base for a fun design element or you can even make the tag into a card itself!  So many possibilities!!

Today, I made a tag with a fold. Not quite a card but almost.  I started by die cutting the fourth largest tag dies from the Chunky Stitched Tags Die Set. I then used this die cut as a template to create what will be the back portion.

The back flap is approximately 3/4 inch longer than the front.  I made a score line on the back flap before adhering the two pieces together which will make it open easier!

This particular set of dies does not have the hole portion as part of the die so I used a hole punch. 

Now what worked amazingly well as the reinforcement of the hole was the little donut die from the Just Brew It Stamp and Die Set ! How's that for luck??  I cut and decorated a bunch of cookies from the Baked With Love Stamp and Die Set to decorate the front of the tag.

Before sticking everything together, I decided to add a decorative border along the edge of the front flap.  I used the scalloped die from the More Stitched Edges Die Set to cut a piece of red cardstock.

I think this finished the edge nicely.  I silver embossed the sentiment and adhered all the cookies onto the front of the tag.

I stamped "Thinking of You" on the inside of the tag which comes from the Mini Spring Greeting Stamp Set.

And that's my tag for today!!  Really easy and fun to make!

Tag It Tuesday with My Creative Time!

Welcome back!! It's time for another edition of "Tag It Tuesday" for My Creative Time!  Emma has the most wonderful selection of tag dies...I'm not kidding!!

Today I used the Tag Die Layers Set. This set is made to co-ordinate perfectly with the Tag Dies Set but can be used on its own, like I did today!

I started with your basic A2 folded card base and selectively die cut the scalloped tag from the set.  This is easy. Simply place the tag on the front of the folded card base but make sure to place it so the top of the die is overhanging the cardstock...the folded end!!  This will result in the die cutting through both layers only where the die is sitting. Oh my, I fear this isn't making sense and I did not get a photo, I'm so sorry!  Here is what you'll end up with...

A folded tag, which is a great way to hide your sentiment!  I cut 5 of the "zig zag" die, which is also included in this die set, out of a pink and mint cardstock.  For the main image of this tag, I used the small party hat from the Party Hat Dies and used the same colours of cardstock for the decorations.

My sentiment comes from the Time to Celebrate Stamp Set and was heat embossed in silver. 

This stamp set is filled with clever and fun sentiments...

I tied a piece of twine around the top of the tag just for decoration.  And added a bit of sparkle detail with a Stardust Gelly Roll pen as well as a few sparkly enamel dots!

Tag It Tuesday with My Creative Time!

Hello crafty friends and welcome back!! Today, I'm sharing a tag using fabulous products from My Creative Time!! With Mother's Day quickly approaching, I decided to make a tag that I can attach to the gift I buy for my mom!

It's starting to feel a bit like spring here in Manitoba, finally!  Even though the temperatures may be getting warmer, it's not very pretty outside.  We desperately need some rain to wash away the dirtiness left by winter and get the leaves and grass growing again!  So, I had to use bright and cheery colours on my tag today!!

One of the best and most creative tag die sets I own is the Tag Dies and Tag Dies Layers sets. Each one can stand on their own, but together, they are awesome!!!

To embellish the tag, I used the Flower Petal Dies and the Stitched Leaves Dies.  I chose bright colours of cardstock and lightly inked the edges with a similar coloured ink.

I partially inked a sentiment from the Mom stamp set and stamped it across the "love" die cut window.  This was tricky as I had already adhered the flowers so I couldn't use my Misti...oops! Thankfully, it turned out okay.  After looping the bakers twine through the tag, I decided to add a few heart die cuts that come from the new Kindess stamp and die set. I used the same cardstock as the base layer tag.

Tag It Tuesday with My Creative Time!

Hello crafty friends and welcome back!!  Today I'm sharing a tag made using some fabulous products from My Creative Time.

This winter is feeling very long, we've had the coldest February in quite a few years!  I'm ready for it to just be over!!  To help out with my winter blues, I decided to use bright, cheerful colours for my project today.

I started by die cutting two pieces of pink cardstock with the largest tag from the brand new Chunky Stitched Tag Dies..love these! I apologize in advance if you see a lot of projects with these.  I cut two because the cardstock I used is quite flimsy so adhering them together gave a lot of stability.  I cut the second largest tag, which is also a stitched tag, out of white cardstock and layered them together with foam adhesive.

Because these dies do not have the ribbon hole in them, I was able to punch two holes at the top and make a flat knot. This is easy. Simply feed each end of the ribbon into the two holes on the FRONT of the tag and come up back through to the front!

I stamped one of the beautiful flowers from the Just Because Stamp and Die Set with Versamark Ink onto some Mixed Media paper.  I heat embossed with Silver embossing powder.  I used one shade of purple and green of my Tombow Dual Brush Pens to do some super simple watercolour.

For the sentiment, I chose the Big Hello Die and cut it four times out of grey cardstock.  I adhered both the flower and the sentiment with liquid glue. After looking at this tag for a couple of minutes, I decided it needed just a little something more.

I die cut one of the sweet butterflies from the Mini Butterfly Dies out of the same Mixed Media paper and used the same purple and a pink colour to make it pretty.

And of course a little sparkle was in order so I used my Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay pen on the big Hello and the butterfly.  Because the Tombow markers are reactive to water/liquid, they reacted in a very cool way on the butterfly. Almost looks tie dyed!!

Isn't that sparkle fabulous?!
